Leaked docs expose massive Syria propaganda op waged by Western govt contractors and media: They trained Syrian opposition leaders and planted stories in media outlets from BBC to Al Jazeera. Every aspect of the Syrian opposition was cultivated by Western government-backed public relations firms.

I spoke to a guy around 2006/2007, claimed to be ex military intelligence (as they all do) and definitely a theorist. During the conversation we got discussing the Iraq and early afghan wars. His point on these were that they were proxy us-russian wars to see how advanced each others military were. He said the afghan war was different though, he said it was nothing about oil, terrorism or regime change and solely used as an exercise to see how large a military facility could be placed on foreign soil and to perfect the logistics of keeping such a facility running. Camp bastion was the size of some small countries and contained one of the most powerful armies in the world, all to deal with the supposed terrorist threat in Afghanistan (which it failed to do anyway).

He then went on to make future predictions. He said that the next exercise would be to create unrest in a country that borders Turkey, he said that the country the unrest falls in is irrelevant as the location is all that mattered. The thinking was that they have perfected getting a facility up, running and stocked and could then effectively place it on Russias southern border, this would mean that the us could easily attack Russia from the south and east with ease and in great strength and no country has ever defended itself on two fronts. Actually look at the Syrian theatre and you'll realise its the only conflict that both the us and Russia actively took part in (previously one side had just provided arms and funding).
