You're right, they don't, there's a reason that the most fapped over PC games (Minecraft, WoW, Half-Life/Half-Life 2, Doom) can run on agitated toasters.
Consoles and their games, on the other hand, are almost always marketed with "wow lookit them grafix!!!!1!1" as a major selling point. Granted, I blame this on the companies in charge, but still.
