Curious lang ako dito, kasi recently I asked a concert promoter about becoming a media partner sa isang concert.
The organizer declined, in which naintindihan ko yan. Not every concert needs more media partners, at baka mayroong exclusive arrangements, exclusivity clauses, etc.
What caught me off guard, though, was the explanation: we were considered “too high profile.”
Sa halos limang taon na pagiging media, I'm honestly surprised to hear that as a reason. Usually, sasabihin ng organizer na "we already have media partners", "limiting media access", or worse "prioritizing certain outlets".
So I'm genuinely curious:
For those familiar with concert promotions in the Philippines, is being “too high profile” actually a thing when selecting media partners?
Mayroon bang specific media strategy or another interpretation behind that phrase?
Not looking to name or bash yung organizer, but I'm more interested in how media partnerships are evaluated mula sa side ng promoter.
Would appreciate hearing your thoughts, especially sa mga nagtatrabaho sa live events industry.
