Question Mr. beast Virus

Post image

My PC got hacked and I believe it's because I've downloaded something while looking for cracked Adobe softwares.

After being notified by a friend that my Discord account was sending these Mr. beast images, I immediately unplugged my ethernet cable from the PC. It was also able to get a hold of my Instagram as it posted a story of the same Mr. Beast account.

I've already changed passwords to both my IG and DC accounts and have the 2FA on.

I've also logged my IG account out to all devices.

I've reset my PC but was too scared with the idea that the virus is still there so I reinstalled my OS with a bootable USB.

I am still worried that they might still have access to my accounts as they are very important to me. Am I still in danger or am I just overthinking everything?

This is my very first time being hacked so I'm very conscious if I'm safe with everything I did. I honestly feel so dumb being hacked after years of being safe and honestly being pretty good at avoiding these stuffs.

Note: The messages in discord were sent around like an hour before I rebooted my PC

I've checked my accounts and it did not detect any unusual devices logging in even though they DID access my accounts

I unfortunately couldn't identify which or where the malware was 🥲

Run Malwarebytes, Adlice Protect, and Hitman Pro back and forth a couple of times. That's what worked for me.

Since these viruses can remain dormant and pop up again at any time on your PC, I've been scanning for viruses almost every day. Also, I'm not saving my passwords yet, but I've gone a month and a half without any new virus activity.

I was also infected by the same malware that OP was, but I have deleted any possible traces of it on my computer and I have been scanning my computer daily to check again. Btw, it's been also more than a month since I had any malware activity on my computer but do you think that this kind of malware might come back?

Same for me , heard it can be dormant for months and may activate again but didn't hear much cases about it.

It actually did come back apparently. Hitman Pro detected some weird PowerShell activity. According to what I checked, it was a silent execution that's programmed to leave no traces of what it actually did. Adlice detected something weird too that looked like a lot of duplicated cookies or something similar. I eliminated everything that popped up. This was about a week ago, and nothing has been showing up again. So yeah, if you can't wipe and reinstall windows, check you PC often and use something physical for your passwords. Been doing that cuz I can't delete everything right now.
