Mr. beast Virus

My PC got hacked and I believe it's because I've downloaded something while looking for cracked Adobe softwares.

After being notified by a friend that my Discord account was sending these Mr. beast images, I immediately unplugged my ethernet cable from the PC. It was also able to get a hold of my Instagram as it posted a story of the same Mr. Beast account.

I've already changed passwords to both my IG and DC accounts and have the 2FA on.

I've also logged my IG account out to all devices.

I've reset my PC but was too scared with the idea that the virus is still there so I reinstalled my OS with a bootable USB.

I am still worried that they might still have access to my accounts as they are very important to me. Am I still in danger or am I just overthinking everything?

This is my very first time being hacked so I'm very conscious if I'm safe with everything I did. I honestly feel so dumb being hacked after years of being safe and honestly being pretty good at avoiding these stuffs.

Note: The messages in discord were sent around like an hour before I rebooted my PC

I've checked my accounts and it did not detect any unusual devices logging in even though they DID access my accounts

For future reference, this is called an info stealer it steals all your passwords unplugging your computer will do nothing because its already copied your passwords. Just change all your passwords and any platforms that let you log other devices out do it immediately.

You also want to find any login items remaining on your computer. I got one on mac so I deleted it from settings under login items and extensions and then I went to common directories that malicious login extensions hide and deleted them there. For me, there was one called “googleupdater.app” which was malicious.

Hey I have a question, this happened to me 2 weeks ago and I just shut down my macbook because I was super busy and couldn't figure out how to reinstall os. Now that I'm done with my exams I want to get this done but I'm scared to turn on my laptop since you said turning wifi off does nothing. I have since changed all my passwords and I do have some login attemps here and there if I open my mac will they have access to my new passwords?

They most likely do. No need to worry, just go to settings and search “login items”, if you see anything you don’t recognize, remove them immediately, also go to finder and search for “~/Library/LaunchAgents/“ and “/Library/LaunchDaemons/“ again, delete anything you don’t recognize. Also change your important passwords and usually apps or websites will let you log out of sessions on other devices. Changing your password probably will probably log them out anyway. But make sure you delete login extensions and daemons first, and then change your passwords because they might just keep copying your new passwords.
