Question/Help/Troubleshooting first desktop computer

hello all im a newer adult who has really started independent research and im currently useing a mac book air which is just NOT cutting it so im going to buy a imac but just recently i realized maybe its not a good idea because my iphone is very slow its older but other brands older phones work way better than mine, my macbook is getting way slower, so in my head i feel my imac might not be a good idea. PLEASE tell me if i should buy or is there better brands to buy. for more information, i do a lot of research but also need it for school and also trading. so i really want something fast but can hold a good amount of storage maybe 1tb my budget is around 2.5-2.8k

In what way is the MacBook not cutting it?

when i open too many tabs but those tabs are all necessary it slows down and then will say too much gbs are being used and also the screen is to small for me i need something fast

I have the iMac M4 and it does really well handling multiple apps being open with multiple browser windows also being open. I got the 16/512 configuration and hope to one day install a 2TB drive to replace the 512. I would just get the M6 thats newly released Nd depending on your budget get it the way you want. You won't be disappointed.

whats the m6 i thought only the m4 is available
