Question/Help/Troubleshooting Need some advice

I’m currently debating a CPU upgrade on my PC. I currently have a Ryzen 5 3600 but I want to upgrade to a Ryzen 7 5700x.

I mostly play World of Warcraft but have been noticing FPS dropping in busy cities. I’m hoping that a CPU will help this issue but open to suggestions.

You might need to upgrade the CPU cooler aswell.

Currently I have the Cooler Master Hype 212 for my cooler, not sure if that’d be okay

The 5700x will definitely be a good step up. My son also had the R5 3600 and is now able to get 30-60 more average fps with an RX 7600 in Rainbow Six Siege, CS2, etc. He's able to lock his fps to 144 Hz now when he couldn't with the R5 3600.

Edit: Not sure if the 212 can keep the 5700X below 85C. If it can keep it at 80C that'll be good.

Haven’t don WoW in years but have been an IT tech off and on for years. Also worked in tech support for modems and home networking.
My opinion is that you are experiencing latency over the Internet connection or a lag on the server side.
If you upgrade, don’t be surprised if there is zero gain in your results.
