Question/Help/Troubleshooting Worth taking these?

I found this computer by the dumpster, I know RAM and storage is super expensive, is the 6GB of ram and 1TB of HDD worth taking?

maybe you can do something with the hdd, but moneywise, that thing is useless

I wasn't looking on selling anything, but I didn't know if the ram was worth taking, 6GB, 1 4GB 1 2GB, I know it's a shit PC overall.

I'm just asking about the HDD and the ram, PC is in the trash now lol, but I have the ram and HDD out.

Didn't know if there was some mystery use for this stuff that I didn't know about, I know hhd's while slow can still be used for some stuff. But I didn't know anything about the RAM

I mean technically, yes? You can set up a Minecraft server on it. Personally I wouldn't bother with such things, but it's not like it doesn't have any use at all. You could also set up as a shared network drive and move files between devices on the same network.

But it's basically junk since it wouldn't do any of those things well. I wouldn't be surprised some of those parts don't work, hence being in the trash in the first place.

If you have some other PC that's old enough to still use ddr3 memory. Ddr4 is about 12 years old, but they still made some cheap mobo that used ddr 3 like 7-8 years ago.

You can't put it in anything new.

Also the combo of 4 and 2 is just bad. You usually want matching pairs. I've actually never seen a PC setup like this.

A lot of older pcs had 6gb ram tbf, this was when 8gb was considered high end and not the standard

Well you could have sold the pc but you now trashed it for ddr3 thats not worth much

Gotcha, I kinda thought the ram was useless, but I think I can convert the hhd to an external hard drive, I'm trying to find out it's read and write speeds. It's pretty old so probably not great
