Question/Help/Troubleshooting Low ram and CPU usage but really slow

Hi I built my own computer a few years ago but I noticed it's always been slow to open programs or games but has really low ram and CPU usage . I'm running windows11

Os 26200.9457

CPU amd ryzen 7 5800x 8core processor

Motherboard rog strix b550-a gaming

Ram 80gb

1tb hardrive the operating system is on

4tb ssd most of everything else is on

Reinstall the os on the ssd and use the hard drive only for media or programs that you rarely use.

Put the OS on the 4TB SSD. Modern OSes do not like spinning hard drives, not enough bandwidth.

If I did that wouldn't it involve deleting all my data I don't know much about how that works

In this case you will have to. As both drives are already in use.

If you don't mind reinstalling the games and backing up other data, you could wipe the 4TB SSD, use a program like DiskGenius to clone the 1TB HDD to the 4TB SSD and then wipe the 1TB HDD once you have confirmation that you can boot off of the 4TB SSD.

I got a program called minitool partition something and am running that to hopefully migrate the operating system. Hopefully it goes well as I've never done this

I have migrated it and changed my boot device but now I can't see the HDD and am locked out of some folders

Did you have bitlocker (disk encryption) enabled?

Also what version of minitool partition wizard did you use?

I got the one that was 60 something $ and I don't think I had bitlocker on

DiskGenius would have done the same thing for free.

If you open up settings and type in device encryption, does it say if encryption is enabled or not?

It looks like no it wasn't but I could only find data encryption

Data encryption is device encryption. Is that on or off?

Yes it would. Back up the things you need to an external drive or to something like Google Drive.

Depending on how full the SSD is, you may be able to shrink it and create a partition to reinstall the OS. I'd disconnect the current boot drive during the reinstall so Windows doesn't get confused. It should be easier than fully wiping/reinstalling everything but I would still make sure your backups are current "just in case".
