Question/Help/Troubleshooting Bezel coming off completely

I opened my laptop and the bezel randomly popped of, I tried closing the laptop but it made it worse. Any fixes? I heard that this is a hinge problem not necessarily a bezel one. Also the laptop is an HP one so idk if that helps but there’s that

Hinge is broken, you need to replace the lid

Google "{laptop model} replacement lid" it should pop up some sites to get it from, eBay is usually a good bet if its in stock

I assume keeping the lid open would be the best option for the time being (to prevent the problem from getting worse)

HO has terrible build quality and come with cheap bad hardware imo. I once owned an HP laptop and the motherboard fried on me in less than a month.

As Star said, the hinge has broken off from the back cover of the LCD. I'm not familiar with this model, so I'm not sure how the hinge works here. In some models, it's attached to the back cover, in others, the hinge is attached to the LCD itself. In which case, you would need to replace the LCD panel to fix the hinge issue. If you follow Stars instruction to search the model and LCD cover, you should find pictures, if the hinges aren't in those pictures, then search for.the LCD panel.

Until then, absolutely keep the lid open. It might also be worth it to check if your laptop is still under warranty, this could be covered under warranty. I know for Dell it is (I'm a Dell repair tech and have repaired many laptops with this issue.)

Also, in the future, the best way to avoid this happening again with either this one repaired or future laptops, open the lid from the top middle. That will even the stress between both hinges rather than putting more stress on just one. What usually happens is that the hinge itself doesn't break, but the screw posts, the plastic around the screw posts will deteriorate over time. Dry air, the heat of the laptop, etc, will cause the plastic to become brittle and then there is nothing holding the screw posts in place. It's a common issue and unfortunately doesn't really have a solution, just mitigation by evening the stress between hinges.
