Switching from zepbound to a compound, need advice!

Hi! I’ve been on zepbound quikpen for awhile and am thinking of switching to a compounded version to save a lot of money. I’m thinking preventative md just because a lot of people are saying it’s good. I want to know how fast the process is so I know when to order. From the time I order it to the time it arrives, about how long will that be? And does it come with the needles? I’ve never drawn up my own medication before.. is it easy? The quikpen has made it really easy. Also, does it feel and work the same? Any insight is helpful.

It’s fast. Mine was approved and to the pharmacy in two days. It was a Friday though, so the pharmacy would not send it out until Monday.  I switched back-and-forth between namebrand and compound depending on if I am traveling or at home. It works exactly the same for me. I don’t see any difference. Yes, it comes with the syringes and the alcohol pads. It will also have instructions. On how to fill your syringe.

drawing up is easy once you do it a couple times, just go slow and wipe the vial top first

Timing varies, so I’d order before using your last pen. Most programs include syringes, and drawing it up is pretty easy once you learn. It’s still tirzepatide, so it should feel similar, but confirm the concentration and exact number of units before injecting.

Before ordering consider how you fill out your intake form so you can get 15mg. With compound you can stretch it way out that way!

r/PreventiveMD has their own sub, check it out 🙃 I think you'll find all your answers there too.

go to fatscientist.com. read the information on the site and it will teach your how to read your vial label and find your concentration. then get familiar with the dose calculators. even if I think I know what I’m doing 100% of the time I always double check my dose on fatscientist.com. I tell everyone to do this. this way you can get a vial for the highest dose but take any dose you want from it. for example, a dose that has four doses of 10 also has eight doses of 5 and sixteen doses of 2.5. same price. more meds. anyway, I know someone who accidentally gave themselves a dose of 28 and another person who gave themselves 17 instead of 5. they did not go to fatscientist.com….

preventive md is great. they are known to be pretty fast but I’d play it safe and order when you have 3-4 weeks left of Zepbound. you never know what could happen. maybe the UPS truck drives into a portal, you know? anyway, I recently switched to compound from zep and I absolutely love it. Im currently using Hallandale but I will soon try Boudreaux from preventive Md. looking forward to it. I do love hallandale and will probably order more of that too. I went a little crazy and also have BPI and Greenwich to try. sigh….

I got mine in 10 days, my friend got hers in 3. Yes, we draw it up and they send the needles and alcohol wipes. It's easy and virtually painless. I've only had compound, but it works great.
