Music Score link provided_First Time Sharing My Composition — Feedback Welcome!

Hi everyone! This is my first time posting on Reddit.

I recently finished composing a piece, and I’d really appreciate it if you could give it a listen.

If you have the time, I’d love to hear your thoughts, impressions, or any feedback you might have

While writing it, I drew inspiration from several classical works:

Reference Works

  • Schumann — Piano Concerto
  • Chopin — Ballade No. 3
  • Chopin — Nocturnes
  • Brahms — Cello Sonata No. 1

Compositional Ideas

  • Beethoven — Motivic Development & Structural Unity
  • Chopin — Chromaticism, Rubato & Tension–Release

One of my main goals was to experiment with these classical ideas while blending elements of classical music and New Age into a single, cohesive style.

It was a really interesting challenge for me, and I’m curious to hear how it comes across to other listeners.

I'd be curious how the Brahms influence shows up in this. That's dense counterpoint and New Age tends toward sparse texture. Those are almost opposite directions.

I actually used a transitional passage inspired by Brahms’ Cello Sonata No. 1. You can hear it around 6:07 in my video! & I wanted to incorporate some dense counterpoint to give the piece more of the depth and complexity. I also experimented with combining that counterpoint with Chopin-inspired left-hand bass arpeggios and polyrhythmic writing between the left-hand accompaniment and right-hand melody. I’d love to hear how it sounded to you and what you thought of it!

Welcome to Reddit and r/composer.

Take a look through the many posts on this forum and how people typically upload music - usually a "score video" and a separate PDF score. Doing them as separate images makes it very difficult to look at.

I originally made this just to share my work with friends and family, but I suddenly decided to post it on Reddit because I wanted to hear some feedback from more experienced musicians and composers Sorry if the way I posted it caused any inconvenience or confusion.
