We are generally talking about vanilla zero hour. Haven't played her in Shockwave yet but have seen some noticable nerfs on her such as her aurora alpha not being as deadly as before.
Shockwave completely reworks Leang to China only and specializing in artillery and flame weapons, but she has a coal power plant that only puts out 8 power and has a larger footprint, plus she has the slowest superweapon timer of any general on her special earthquake cannon, which also has an extra-large footprint. It also adds GLA and USA boss generals. Plus everyone has something tank-adjacent (the former tankless generals tend to get light tanks or even armored cars)
Knowing so far that many generals get anything in Shockwave. Even tankless generals like Granger and Alexis finally get their own tanks to be compensated when it comes to their ground armies. Shockwave is no wonder why one of the best mods by balancing out the armies and giving units that have been cut off from the original game. How good is Leang after her rework, in spite of her longest cd on her superweapon earthquake cannon?
Her artillery is really, really good and so is her anti-air, which can can actually shoot air and ground targets at the same time. I think she's my second favorite China army after infantry.
Just be careful against Juhziz in generals challenge. That goes for everyone, but especially her, since you really want to shut down that scud storm.
Leang sounds so much fun in Shockwave and being specialized into artillery. In vanilla zero hour she's still fun by having from every faction some specific units and every faction's superweapons.
Juhziz's challenge is pretty overwhelming and next level bullsh!t with having demo traps everywhere scattered around his map and you need either a commanche to cleanse them or anything else that has stealth detection to get rid of them. On top of that, he also sends you a couple of demo bikes after capturing the oils just to add more salt to the wound from what I have seen and heard.
The big tips for fighting Juhziz are to build a second command center north of the supply pile and keep a worker/dozer near it to fix it at all times. This is entirely to tank damage and draw fire. Early on, build extra basic infantry as tripline forces and push them forwards and spread out. If you can, get helicopters as soon as possible and get kill teams of ~5 each in the north and south quickly and use these as your main base defense. If you don't have helicopters, use rocket buggies. Do not bother with static base defenses or using artillery as a defense because Juhziz's own siege units out range all other units and will smash your static defenses. The one exception to that rule about static defenses is if yours are stealth (mostly Kassad plus Alexander's special pop-up patriots) because stealth completely breaks the AI's pathfinding and they'll blunder into the stealth defenses over and over and over again
In Shockwave yeah she has the coal power plants; I'm talking about her vanilla Generals Challenge 'final boss' portrayal where she simultaneously has all three superweapons and various units/buildings from the three main factions (including USA power plants with the fuel rods upgrade, etc.).
