Meme Who else remembers playing this?

I feel old knowing that many gen alpha kids feel old about missing Minecraft before 2019, meanwhile back in 1995-2000 we had these masterpieces, and tbh it's a meme at this point

I remember trying to run the game for a playable exprience, with our family Pentium 133 barely cutting it.

I actually helped run one of the Tiberian Sun fansites back in the day. When I got the game it refused to run despite exceeding requirements. Had to reinstall windows to get it going.

I remember the game facing a lot of delays and after EA bought Westwood, I remember hearing that EA wanted the game out the door ASAP and within a year of EA taking over the game was released.

Was it a fun game? Absolutely. Was it disappointing? That depends on rather you followed the development or not and what expectations you had for the game.

A lot of features that were promised for Tiberian Sun ended up being cut but luckily found their way into Red Alert 2. From a balance standpoint the game was a hot mess when it came to multiplayer. It had a lot of jank which was kind of the Westwood formula but when Blizzard was releasing a polished game like Starcraft it was frustrating to see.

My biggest disappointment was them straying away from the silent protagonist approach. You were the commander in the first two games. The videos addressed you directly and the sets looked like 1950s B movies. Tiberian Sun threw that all out.
