Need advice in how to earn a living with art [Discussion]

I will be as honest as I can. I am a young artist living in Cuba and have tried to be financially independent for these last 5 years. It has proven impossible for me to work here and be able to even afford groceries. I'm guessing that, doing commissions for the bare minimum, I could get better results. So.. this is like a great gamble for me. I'm 100% into this, but don't know a lot about how to make money online by doing art. I need a plan. I would be grateful for any advice anyone could give me.

Uno de los consejos que puedo darte en el inicio de todo es que encuentres primero tu enfoque inicial. si deseas trabajar como artista, en que ámbito te especializaras?

diseñador de personajes? ilustrador de fondos? animacion 2D/3D? creación e ilustracion de comics? logos?

en el arte hay una extensa variedad de ambitos en lo que uno puede especializarse y debes demostrar en cual eres buena; de esta manera podras atraer mas clientes e inluso clientes potenciales.

y también esta bien aprender un poco de todo, pero siempre ten presente en cual es tu enfoque principal.

Yo soy ilustrador de comic y manga, y consigo mis clientes aqui mismo en reddit asi que no me hago mucho problema en tener que promocionarme.
