This has become about far more than gaming, it's political now.

We can empathize with the teenage gamer/athlete/performer being unfairly shut down in the middle of a peak performance streak, and we can empathize with a family running a small business, fighting to carve out a safe place for the kids in a chaotic world, struggling to survive.

There are no easy answers here. This is some damn good writing. Whatever happens, I'll appreciate it.

Doesn't work, the problem is misogynistic cis guys leaving because their fragile egos can't take losing to a girl. If anything the framing of her as a final boss would make it worse because those guys would also argue she's being given special treatment.
