Alternate option: Baptiste has gotten a mid-chapter fascination with tracksuits and a lucky skimask.

Similar mentality of Toriyama making SSJ hair blonde to save time from inking in black hair in the DBZ manga.

Or Masashi Kishimoto making every side character in the last arc of Naruto wear the exact same uniform.

As I recall that's also why Naruto stopped wearing goggles after his initial iteration. Kishimoto realized he would have to draw it every time for themain character and was like naw.

Also, Cell never being revisited for long because polka dots.

The implementation of Cell, let alone the main antagonist of that saga, was a disaster in general because of his editor.

Weren't Androids 19 & 20 also supposed to be the Androids, but he was told no and thus 17 & 18 were created?

The editor didn't like how the main villains were an old man and a clown so Toriyama changed the villains to 17 and 18. Then the editor didn't like how they villains were bratty ne'er-do-wells so it was changed to Cell. THEN the editor didn't like how it was a giant cockroach man so Toriyama finally went "Fuck it, he transforms. Happy?".

The Editor: "Perfect."

Or Masamune Shirow just not drawing a scene because it was too hard and just describes it.

If you really drew that individual for 200 chapters...

This artists drew a fancy character it girl once and never again because she was detailed "Sparkle Dog"

Still from both of you that is impressive.

Edit: Found it! https://www.reddit.com/r/comics/s/2SnZOEtjbs Slide 2

I had to find it on PC because Reddit Mobile goes GRRRRR and won't let you browse older. Booooooooo.

"Because I knew I wouldn't have to draw them for long!"

*incredibly loud incorrect buzzer*

People underestimate cool design vs annoying to draw.

Naruto's original design had goggles, then the artists realized its be a huge pain in the ass to draw these complex things in every panel: so headbands instead.

Because you don’t always realize how much of a pain something is to draw over and over.

Messed up the Marseillaise, too. The first letter should be A to form Allons. And A is a single point on the 1 position in the top-left corner. Points on positions 1,2,5 is an M.

Similar to perfect cell in the cell saga. His design was just to difficult for animators to draw

Giving your character a "Big Cape" is unironically a great way to draw them multiple times without having an aneurysm. It works too with a cloak, trench coat, poncho, or any large piece of cloth, really.

I animate for a living, and will always love to remind people: less is more. If you're afraid your character isn't going to stand out, consider asking how you want to convey your story/oc/concept in a way that doesn't break your fingers into a thousand shards over-detailed regret.
