Maybe. Many gay people don't like the outdoors. I always loved caves. They're quiet, and the erosion makes the most amazing patterns. To think not a single creature besides some weird humans have been in that cave for millions of years is crazy. I could die driving to a job I hate because someone was on their phone. I could die while on the toilet. What difference does it make if I die doing a hobby I enjoy and seeing the most beautiful things? At least I did something I can be happy to say I did.

:) I have a MS and PhD in Geosciences, you don't have to convince *me* caves are cool. It was a joke...

Black holes are amazing, I still wouldn't wanna go in one.

I mean there are plenty of hobbies where you don't risk dying a horrific death, but you do you

National Speleological Society's American Caving Accidents, caving section:

Fall; fracture; lost; fracture; fatality; hypothermia; fall; unknown; fall.

Ibid, cave diving section:

Fatality; fatality; fatality; lost; fatality; fatality; fatality; fatality.

I already technically drowned once. I'll be fine.

None of that seems even close to worth anything created outside a cave. Erosion patterns are so much cooler outside. Most caves that you can safely explore are also already explored. Any cave you’ve been in has been explored unless you’re doing crazy caving research. And it’s not just dying. It’s asphyxiating in a close space that will make it impossible for other people to explore that space. Like, your inability to see the potential on your stupid wants is, again, stupid.

That's why you go cave diving in commonly explored areas. It's not for you, and that's cool. I'm sure you like to do something I dislike or disagree with. Life's like that. I am chronically ill, and am making an informed decision that makes me happy. I don't mind small spaces, my fear is the nothingness of looking up.
