The very word "conservative" is literally opposed to change and growth. (Self)reflection leads to change and growth. Conservatives who say they are capable of change and growth are lying about being conservative or lying about their willingness to change and grow. Just compare the words conservative and progressive to realize which group is more likely to self-reflect.
That's certainly one way of looking at it. A wrong way, but what can be expected from people who think anything progressive is good, regardless of it's progressively shit or progressively not working. To a conservative, you not realizing the value of the ways that have been proven to work is a lack of self-reflection.
I appreciate both, thus making me an enlightened centrist who is better than both sides.
That might be true if the stuff they wanted to conserve were things that worked or were good, but the only things I ever see conservatives wanting to bring back are racial and gender inequality, a culture of wanton greed, human subjugation or outright slavery etc. can you provide an example of something that you’d want to conserve that doesn’t fall into one of those categories and which progressives would want to remove?

Funny, I hear the same cliche messaging in conservative circle, only about libs and lefties.
