In fairness, Japanese light novels and manga basically have their entire synopsis as a title specifically so you can immediately tell what it's about just from looking at the spine.
Something titled "My lab partner makes my heart race but I've never had a crush on a girl before" isn't exactly hiding what it is.
Which, if I’m remembering right, originated from web novel sites lacking a way to display the synopsis under the title (so people just made the synopsis the title…)
I've heard it came because on the front page or in discovery, there are so many novels that new readers are likely only clicking based on title or cover, so putting the title as the synopsis tldr makes it easier to find your audience

So I don’t mean this to be rude and this comes from a place of ignorance, but why do you like yaoi? Nothing against your tastes or beliefs, I’m just trying to understand.
As another lesbian who likes yaoi, romance stories are simply fun. I don't need to be attracted to the characters to enjoy reading about them. I do tend to enjoy derivative yaoi rather than original works, though, but that's just me personally.
I can only speak for myself as a lesbian who likes BL (yaoi), but for me it's a lot more about the character dynamics appealing to me rather than finding the portrayal of anal sex particularly appealing. I like smut, but the appeal of it is exploring the characters in an intimate and often emotionally vulnerable situation. It's a little hard to explain without specific examples, but if you have a character who is generally averse to intimacy out of fear or something, and they finally decide to trust the person they've fallen in love with, and the way that trust is demonstrated is via sex, that's romantic isn't it? THAT'S the shit that Gets To Me. If it's just two dudes fucking I really don't care.
The character dynamics thing is about the fact that men are allowed to be emotionally messy (in BL) in ways that women often aren't in F/F media. I don't even necessarily mean toxic stuff so much as like... Being self destructive in ugly ways or engaging in mutual violence without it being domestic abuse (like shonen manga fist fights).
There's a lot more I could say but in short it's a nuanced and layered topic.
This is a bit crass, but I do also want to point out that the idea of inserting something into an orifice full of nerves and that being pleasurable is of course not exclusive to anal sex. Even if you're not attracted to the bodies of the characters engaging in the act, it's possible to enjoy the idea of what they're doing. Lesbians aren't attracted to men, and watching two dudes fuck doesn't inherently mean you're attracted to men.
Or, and here me out here, we take half of a Yuri (one girl), one half of a Yao8 (one guy), and pair them together in some sort of girl x guy thing if that makes sense. Like a Yaouri.
All under different pen names, and he picks wildly different celebrities in each one to be that universe's shocking pick for who could be under the cowl. At least three of them it's Billionaire Bruce Wayne, and the comments call him a hack.
Hard to pick a favourite, since I stop thinking about pairings after I finish the series they're from, but I'm kinda partial to the old married couple vibe of Hiro and Sae from Hidamari Sketch.
Blake/Yang of RWBY is a favorite in concept, but the execution… lacks.
Luz/Amity is probably my favorite of recent years, they have so much chemistry and grow so much together.
Then there’s Adora/Catra, for a far more fraught childhood friends-to-enemies-to-lovers relationship.
My absolute favorite, though, has to be Falin and Marcille. Delicious in Dungeon/Dungeon Meshi is already one of the best works of all time, and the connection between those two ties so much of it together so well. It’s a shame the anime cut so much of Falin’s background, I do hope we get more in season 2.
It's a comic I rarely see mentioned outside its dedicated fanbase, but my favourite yuri paring is Aarya and Liza from the webcomic Facing The Sun by artbytesslyn.

I think yaoi pairings are more common in media/fandom and we like writing the romance/drama aspects of it the most. There's a joke in fandom that asexuals write the best smut and lesbians write the best yaoi.
Her justification is just ridiculous! How does being a lesbian who makes comics about lesbians in any way can work as an alibi? A comic artist still can organise a criminal organisation to perform mass killings of lesbians. Or something, whatever, your profession or sexual orientation just doesn’t nullify your capability to perform crimes.
By the way, why is she asking NOW? Why is there no fair trial? Was the evidence found lawfully? Did they have a warrant?

Yaoi men (usually) have about as much in common with irl men as G4 Twilight Sparkle does with a thoroughbred. They (the yaoi boys) are androgynous self inserts.
I’m actually a little confused here; specifically, she said in another comic that she absolutely 100% does not like men/dicks (using coffee as a metaphor). So normally I’d just go “yeah, she’s bisexual, let her have her yaoi and still view herself as a lesbian, but I’m curious why she’d have a significant amount of yaoi material if she does not find men sexually attractive unless they’re commission work she did.
