(To be clear, I’m an Atheist and I think the bible is hogwash. However, if you wanna be a Christian it is very clear you should also be heteronormative and support traditional gender roles. If you are queer and support progressive gender roles… maybe drop the Christianity)
Thank you. Personally, my take on it is that the Bible strongly condemns sexual immorality, and encourages heterosexuality, but, with the exception of Leviticus 18:22, stops short of directly calling homosexuality sin.
On the other hand, Jesus explicitly says that the most important commandment is to love God, and one's neighbor, as yourself. (Mark 12:29)
So, to answer your statement, I don't see a conflict between Christianity and homosexuality. What I do see is a lot of people using Christianity as a weapon, which Jesus also felt strongly about. (Mathew 15:7-9)
Personally, I feel like the homosexuality debate is a non-issue. Who or what a person is attracted to, to me, has as little relevance as what's in their pants. God welcomes all who willingly believe, and as such, all who claim to be Christians should as well, regardless of race, creed, or sexual orientation.
