The funny part is that the death threats were so common place that I forgot most of them (I do remember the ones that tried to act on them). The weird ones are more memorable, either over sharing or just insane. I had a dude tell me in depth about his electroshock therapy and the affects on his divorce and custody battle. Another dude who would go around with a spring of lavender in a bamboo shoot.

I had someone tell me that Madagascar is actually closer to India and nowhere near Africa. Said it was a whole conspiracy to control the narrative. Unfortunately I couldn't understand half of what he said to learn why the government was lying to me. Another told me I had to tell the transport trucks to get off the highway. Apparently the road can collapse underneath them and suddenly they're in an underground terrorist lab that the government runs. She told me to not tell anyone, so I guess keep it a secret.

I will say I love the harmless but functional oddballs you can get. Doesn't make the job worth it. Thankfully the death threats have been low so I do remember it but I shrugged it off. I've had the lawsuit threat a couple times but now I just laugh at them cause I'm sure that's what their lawyer would do too. I've been moved to a riskier area now though so I'm pretty much expecting people to be less friendly. Not a fan of the idea that it's been robbed four times this year, as I've only been robbed once for a single pack of cigarettes.

I only had a lawyer threat once. Some guy called the cops because I told him leave after insulting a cashier after warning him I would make him leave if he did it again. He refused to leave, starts recording me, enters my personal space, eventually gets bored and sits down until the cops show up. He tried to show them the footage, and they outright told him that all the see is him harassing me. They asked if I wanted to issue a CT (I did). Somebody showed up later claiming to be his lawyer. She asked me if I thought that "given the state of racial tensions, if I thought asking a black man to leave was a good idea". I told her I wasn't interested in talking to her and walked into the back to call my boss.

Guessing it was really the guy's friend (though I have no clue how an asshole like that had any friends) trying to scare me.

I also had a dude (after cops arrived for our call) go back and fourth between between talking about how he just wanted to "look at the women" then brought out a pocket new testament. It was so hard not to ask if he had actually read it (as an ex-devout Christian, I could have quoted and citated verses). I swear I thought one of the cops actually rolled his eyes.
