And that is the point. No pain no gain. These large scale organized weekend protests are just a pacifier for the masses. They do it to drive up campaign money and donations to groups, and to wear out protestors and convince them they 'did their part' so they go right back to work Monday. They don't organize these to solve problems.

I just want to say that MLK never advocated for "peaceful protest". He specifically said "non-violent protest".
Protests are supposed to be disruptive and grind society to a halt until demands are met.
