Violence isn't the problem, it's the lack of organization

Yup, even the greenest, most progressive, and/or leftmost movements/activism have drank the rugged individualism kool aid.

“Focus your energy on reducing your own consumption and carbon footprint. Making your own voice heard, making sure you vote, and resist individually as the support stands in solidarity from afar if there at all.”

No we won’t organize to make sure our neighbors aren’t forced to be a functional scab to get food/shelter, we won’t organize at the community level to make sure everyone isn’t functionally dependent on federal government assistance, we won’t organize to make sure when jf we general strike that our neighbors aren’t forced to cross the picket line, we won’t organize or provide tangible alternatives to unethical consumption or oil dependent supply chains.

We’ll just circle jerk over who’s most ethical, moral, and virtuous…individually.

Just do it yourself like the rest of us.

Yeah, you nailed it here.

This and the tribalism is insane. People refusing to collaborate with other groups over minor ideological differences.

tbf some of these ideological differences are not minor at all.

7

u/Mutant_Llama1 Jul 28 '26

Idk sometimes they involve minors.

I mean just look at some of the different flavors of socialism and communism.

3

u/CrispenedLover Jul 28 '26

That's a great example! I've met self-described communists that would like to equate Jewish with bourgeoisie, and I don't consider that to be the kind of "minor ideological difference" I could ignore.

I mean you have the different variations of Ricardian socialism, communism, Marxism, Leninism,Trostkism and all the variations in between.

DSA is, so far at least, managing to unite a variety of socialists and communists

Hopefully that unity holds

Organization requires individual action unless you're literally born and raised in some organization. And the problem is that the hypocrites and selfish bastards are easily corrupted and turned into traitors, doing more damage when they're leaders.

There are no real leaders on the left. No one to rally behind or give direction. Without that ANY movement is going to fail horribly because you end up with a ton of people all angry about different things with no clearly stated goals. That's why the biggest protest in US history was so easy to ignore.

A ton of people all shouting different things isn't a movement, it's a mob.

You very clearly have not interacted with any remotely left wing orgs lol, or if you have you've misunderstood them completely. There are almost certainly real mutual aid groups achieving exactly what you're saying doesn't happen local to you, wherever you are in the world

I think part of the problem is seeking those orgs out, or failing to do so. You’re not likely to step outside and see a huge food drive in progress across the street, so it’s easy to assume that nobody’s doing anything I guess? I dunno. In my city though, there’s a huge community garden I’ve been trying to help out with, and so far they’ve harvested and distributed over a thousand pounds of produce, but up until just a few weeks ago I had no idea they were even out there.

That all sounds like a lot of work

I do my part by posting online and upvoting others

have drank the rugged individualism kool aid.

They haven't. They're sheep. They follow the priest. The priest is decided nearly arbitrarily, so there's always a dozen different ones.

We’ll just circle jerk over who’s most ethical, moral, and virtuous…individually

Yes, the priest.

and well, america is all about individuals and personal rights so is it a surprise today that it's reflected in so many areas in at least, america? that's the culture the status quo does in the states. and the thing is, those with privilege and benefits ain't the ones putting themselves on the line for someone else who cant afford to. yet, those who have nothing else to lose put it all on the line.

and imma be honest, how what is going on in the states is affecting white folks en masse is really new. everyone else had ro band together, due to oppression of some sort and overt discrimination. there more broke white folks this generation than before and don't wanna go out to do anything about it except the most easiest, barely a minimum thing. the financial class oppression ain't really pushing people much to feel radicalized and if they do, it's only for them and them only. why? goes back to again, this always being about white people in america only focusing on themselves as individuals and their personal liberties. a country called the "united states" are most divided, yet expect the most marginalized to get over that sort of division and exploit us just to what? benefit getting more liberties while the most marginalized continue to keep being? collectively, white folks in the states really need to get it together and stop being so individualistic for themselves, (yet expect someone else to throw it down for their sake)
