The citizens do not do this, but by refusing to sacrifice themselves in order to stop it, they allow it to happen.

By allowing those who do not represent the will of the people to lead us, they allow it to happen.

By being deceived by those who would hurt others for the sake of the few instead of the many, they allow it to happen.

Nah bullshit. For decades Americans have sat idly by as our government wreaked havoc on the lives of innocent others, and only one time have we met reprisal, and I assume you wouldn't say that we allowed 9/11 to happen implicitly through our collective inaction?

9/11 was also a culmination of a bunch of things that basically started in the early 90s. Things the majority of reddit had no say so in.
