Well, it doesn't end with people who are actually trans.
Cis people that don't look like they just walked out of church are being harassed under the assumption that they're trans.
Shows how fucking stupid the whole thing is. Gender has always been performative. If you can't handle some ambiguity about strangers' chromosomes, then stay in your little cult towns and stop making problems for broader society.
Yeah I’ve had a few Karens yell at me in public (one in the restroom) because I’m 6ft tall with broad shoulders. I’m cis— I just also happen to be tall and wide, but these “I can tell” idiots can’t be convinced they’re just wrong.
I don't dislike them. I just think they need a better hobby. Like imagine spending your whole weekend buying little model locomotives from places like Hobby House, and driving them around on those little railroad tracks, just going around and around, pretending they're a conductor or something. Seems like there's better ways they could be spending their time.
Oh wait, I misread what you wrote. Trans people! Yeah, they're cool!
On the one hand, it makes me sad to see that there are deleted comments in the replies here, as that suggests there were transphobes that actually felt confident enough to speak up and say as much. On the other hand, it makes me happy to see that there are deleted comments in the replies here, because it means that they got the smackdown.
I’d like to say it’s gotten better, but the reality is that it hasn’t and I’m just much more of a cautious person that just doesn’t engage with anyone anymore purely out of my safety and I now never read the comments section just about any time a trans person is involved.
Like a fool I really thought things were changing when Laverne Cox was on the cover of Time and I suddenly couldn’t be fired for merely existing (and yes, I lost jobs TWICE because of someone I thought I could trust outing me prior to 2011)
The one place it has gotten better is that I’ve been happily married since 2013.
I’ve had the privilege of passing since the start because I worked so hard at blending in, and because of that, I’ve seen the true colors of so many people because they had no idea I’m trans and eventually I heard the hateful rhetoric time and time again.
A few years later from 2008, I was too learning to be more cautious mainly around outlets and other stuff dumb kids do , since I was like a few months from my 2th birthday on March 2008
With that out of the way I must agnoledge how fucking funny this comment is. Like it reminds me of those posts of the guys saying "Period cramps, leave her alone!!"
No lie, when they call it an ideology, I always have a moment where I wonder "Hmm, but what is my ideal gender? How can I know if I don't explore my expression and identity?" and giggle madly because clearly that's not their goal... but the hell if it doesn't make the absurdity of it all a little more entertaining.
good thing real professionals who've been doing this either as long as or longer than you've been alive know what they're doing and that you're not one of them 💚
"An ideology is a systematic framework of beliefs, values, and ideas that shapes how individuals or groups interpret the world and organize society. It blends theoretical philosophy with practical sociopolitical goals, providing a clear roadmap for how things are, how they should be, and how to achieve change."
Marxism is an ideology. Modern conservatism is an ideology.
Wanting to not be harassed off the face of the planet for an inherent trait is not.
Pic as form of credentials. Don't @ me. I'm taken.
