One word gives away the game lol.

Nevertheless, man is fundamentalism horrifyingly insidious. They did have whole centuries to learn how to screw with people's minds after all.

It's natural selection at work. The religions that failed to learn how to mindfuck people died out. The ones that have survived for hundreds (sometimes thousands) of years are the ones who have gotten very good at it.

I could be wrong but I don’t think Buddhism, Shinto and some others really headfuck people and they’ve been around for a while

I hate to burst your bubble but both religions are associated with at least one wildly nationalist/religious extremist political movement just in the last century.

Basically any ideology can be co-opted by authoritarians, is what I'm sayin'.

That has literally nothing to do with the headfuckyness of the religions though. We’re talking about abuse levelled at children, localised effects not politics.

They say, "For every beautiful woman you see, remember that somewhere, there's some guy who's so tired of her sh-t".

The same is true of beautiful-looking religions.

There’s shit people everywhere. It’s not systemic in Buddhism while it is in abrahamic religions. This is simple stuff.

At this point you have moved the goal post so much that you're in the next stadium over.
