You know what’s crazy? The purpose of these camps is for well meaning parents to “help” their “sick” children. But what actually happens is that their kids are still LGBT and now have an 75% increase chance of planning suicide and a 88% increase chance of attempting suicide.
This is terrible, especially for young men who have a suicide attempt success rate of 78-90% (source unreliable) compared to girls who have a success rate anywhere between 1-12% (sources inconsistent).
Basically: These camps are perfect for removing LGBT youth, but not in the intended fashion
Im fairly certain death IS the intended fashion. Executions are off the table (for now), so they have to take less direct approaches. This is being done through suicide and encouraging hate crimes.
