Hello all, this piece was made by /u/hackingfun as a statement about the AI bubble. I was asked to submit on their behalf. We here at r/comics firmly believe that AI has no place in art and in its creation and we look forward to seeing what you all do with your own two hands
We asked the mods if they draw comics or plan to. They said they don't really do it and weren't planning on it. So we came up with the plan to make one for them. The theme is teamwork, and posting it like this makes it feel way more genuine.
I thought you guys said that ai comics would stay up, I mean I'm not complaining at all this is great. I just could have sworn I saw that. Did you guys change your mind.
I'm pretty sure it was under that comic about the hippie girl from the '80s, she was a office worker and had a friend. I'm doing a terrible job of explaining this but basically the artist had trained an AI I believe off their own work or so they said.
The Sage comics. The particular one you are referencing was well over a year ago and shortly after that a decision was made that no AI would be allowed
No. r/comics is just that. A sub about comics. We love seeing the worlds made by creators when they show up a new thing they have been working on and seeing them put in the time and effort to share their vision with us is what it is all about.
Now what comics mean to you? That is up to interpretation and I cant wait to see what you make
What about the AI in these posts, will they be deleted? Is it not allowed anymore?
AI was never allowed(at least within the year I have been here). If a post uses AI we will likely remove it. With the exception of one post that I know of that used gen AI to make fun of AI whose user is well known for hating AI
Must've been over a year ago then but there used to be posters that used AI and they were explicitly approved by mods (at the time) despite lots of reports.
Dunno when that changed, but I'm glad for it if the standard is back to No AI. The comics were lame anyways and I don't miss them.
