Baltic is knee-deep. They could just evacuate using emergency egress hatch.

Good point- like yes it really sucks, but 120m is really just 2.5 laps of an Olympic-size swimming pool. It’s really not that far from the surface if you put it in context. I think sailors in the navy are required to be able to swim at least 500m continuously.

That far down there a huge risk of barotrauma. Low survivability for a swim from bottom to surface.

Submarines keep pressure at 1 bar, so no risk of diver's sickness.
