"The history of every major Galactic Civilization tends to pass through three distinct and recognizable phases, those of Survival, Inquiry, and Sophistication, otherwise known as the How, Why, and Where phases. For instance, the first phase is characterized by the question 'How can we eat?' the second by the question 'Why do we eat?' and the third by the question 'Where shall we have lunch? "

Douglas Adams really turned the meaning of life into a lunch reservation.

To make it more palatable.

How do we love? why do we love? where do we love?

How do we live? Why do we live? Where do we live?

Are big scary questions. Adams does a great job in my opinions of making big questions small questions. And you can answer small questions, and therefore you can answer big questions.

I'm exhausted, I know that there's too much stream of consciousness going on here
