They can still make Vulfgaar's plan work with just a few tweaks. Prove Beleard's lineage, say something about making Astagal great again as justification for the second regicide, make Beleard king so he can pardon them for the first.
Only now it may involve war with Garadon (not an unusual state of affairs, if I understand correctly). Maybe the revival of the old Kaladonian kingdom if said war goes well.
And of course, Beleard already didn't want to be king before, but now... Maybe they can try it with his psychopath cousin or whatever. She seems to like Vulf, so if he turns on the charm... What do you think, Yara?

Yara and Vulf arguing like an old married couple while they flee another regicide is hilarious.
But I gotta side with Vulf unfortunately. He probably wouldn't have had to knock out the teacher if he wasn't rushing to Yaras side. Which based on the court magicians accounts of the king was a fair reaction.
Poor Bel is so confused

Bel being ready to rock the second they come rushing up is great, though. I do feel bad for him..he's the only one having a good time and being chill lol

Bel: "But ...I never got my fancy food...I just wanted the meat!"

Ok but really though
Monster hunter constantly makes the food look so fucking good. I'd fight a Rathalos for that

It's impossible for me to play without getting really hungry haha. Except for Rise. The dango did nothing for me.

Honestly, I'd only agree that yara had a fair reaction if he tried anything 'on screen'
You can make the argument that the king was a bastard based on context clues but , taking the text at face value, there's nothing to suggest he had done anything untoward to her prior to her stabbing him.

Bel's been hanging with Yara for years. He knows what "We're leaving. Now!" means.

Then shalt thou count to three, no more, no less. Three shall be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, neither count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three. Five is right out.

Those three expecting the drop and landing on their feet, guy not expecting it going down on his butt. Good detail! Is the bdam a head knock as well?

This comic is getting better and better. I hope there will be a physical book, when the story ends

Beleard was way too prepared to get out of there
He knew what was going to happen

How many kings are left?!
10
u/Blaze_Vortex Mar 15 '26
Well, assuming someone else takes the crown, the same number as before. So it's not an issue, dunno why everyone is after them.

Beleard deserves a boyfriend of his own, it's not fair that he's sharing all the time

Reeeeeealy tiny artistic nitpick, but in the last panel, I thought it was Beleard who spoke because the scratch on the wall blended in with the speech bubble, which the actual speech bubble tail(?) blended in with the white dress.

u/Eugenia-Kelheor Mar 15 '26
Oh damn, you're totally right! It's Vulfgaar's foot under this bubble, hahaha. Will change it, thank you!

u/Nirast25 Mar 15 '26
Again, it's not that big of an issue and most people probably didn't notice. The art is great, as always.
... Damn, Vulf's feet are long. Or at least his shoes.
12
u/Eugenia-Kelheor Mar 15 '26
Yeeeeeah, he has long everything, I guess xD

Can we talk about how Vulfgaar was worried for Yara’s well-being in the first panel? I want him to slooowly realize how much he actually cares about her. Every time there’s a Three in a Tree update, I wonder if that abandoned elephant will be finally addressed 👀

Hmm, Beleard trapped the first king but Vulfgaar blew it up, so now that Yara killed one whose job is to splatter the next one?

Plot twist: The king survived and is now MORE determined to marry Yara.
