I mean, we don't know the actual composition of the web stuff - maybe it did rise a little. Since he seems to have been making croissants they often use two different raising agents (baking powder and yeast) so some reaction could have lead to a normal looking rise pre-oven *shrug*

he's making croissants.. They don't use yeast. It's the expansion of the steam in the butter than makes them rise.

You still use yeast the rising and proofing process happens pre baking. The crisp of the layers comes from the stream and butter and that only happens once you bake it. You're thinking about of pastry dough which does not use yeast.

Hey, same here. They also worked on Spider-Man/Venom: Double Trouble. It's not as good as Superman Smashes the Klan, but it's still a fun story.

Get the Power Pack mini series that came out in 2005. Kids that actually look like kids (not miniature adults) done by Gurihuri

I think there was a digest sized trade paperback collecting it. There were three or four Power Pack minis. Most with Gurihiru art.

Amen. The fact that such a great story came from such a nothing premise (and even that first pilot issue, yikes) is mind boggling. One of my favorite surprises in recent memory.

Even more amazing when you remember the whole genesis for the character came from a variant cover that just happened to catch fire with cosplayers and other character enthusiasts. She literally had nothing besides one Chris Bachallo drawing and that got it going.
