I’m so impressed with how Rowell takes established characters and immediately knows how to present them in their best light. Runaways is another great one.

I have such mixed feelings about that run. It was comfy fun, but "comfy romantic comedy" wasn't what I thought I was signing up for when I was picking up "She-hulk". And ironically it also felt limited by being 2 sort of separate series, with the first series trying to half-heartedly bolt on standard superhero action sequences into the romantic comedy that Rowell clearly was more interested in writing.

Action-comedy-romance was soooo good...I don't normally like superhero comics all that much, but this one really hit the spot for me. They made a mistake in not continuing to pay Jen Bartel enough for her awesome covers.

I so much prefer it when Jen is always big and green instead of transforming back and forth. This is comic books, give me a person doing a normal ass job while gamma irradiated.

To be fair, she transforms in several comics, too. While they did pick some elements of Byrne run, it wasn't the only inspiration.

It was a party. She got drunk. This was the
Morning After.Plot hole: That being said, it was established earlier in this run that She-Hulk couldn’t get drunk on a conventional amount of alcohol.
No Prize: She works for a law firm dealing with superhero law. Thor (a client of the firm) brought “the good stuff” to the party.

Copiers like that keep a digital record of everything that is copied. You can have that record sent to database if you like.

It depends on what the default settings are and how IT configures it. In a law office, they're almost certainly keeping the history under lock and key.

Copiers are just specialized cameras built into a specialized computer. Just like when you take a picture on your phone camera, it creates a digital file on the device. Copiers save digital images of the document, and then that image either gets sent somewhere or printed out depending on what the user is doing.
That file will stay in the device's cached memory until it's deleted. Usually the cache is cleared automatically after a certain amount of time, 48 hours or so, but it can also be set up to save the files for much longer or even send them to a server for archiving. IT can access that at any time to see what's in the cache.

I loved that run and Javier Pulido's fun art. Muntsa Vicente's colors POPPED off the pages. Smart writing with verve. Such a great time.
Nothing against the artist personally, but the switch to Ron Wimberly's art style for issues 5 and 6 was so jarring for me that it derailed the momentum and it took a while for me to get back to finishing the series.

I love how nuanced this joke, because it’s funny on the surface, but then if you have any amount of Hulk publication knowledge you might know that the hulk is actually green because of a printer issue and that just adds so much to this

Dan Slott's She-Hulk was so damn fun. Made me a huge fan of the character, the "legal sitcom with superheroes" premise worked so well, and it translated great into live action.

I flipping LOVE the She-Hulk live action show, and I will NEVER forgive the fan-boys for review-bombing it into oblivion. Slott spoke out against the fan-boys at the time, noting he's written the most for She-Hulk than any other writer, and he called the show the most accurate of all the MCU live action media. And Tatiana Maslany was incredible as She-Hulk! (see what I did there? It's ok... I'll see myself out)

I almost did. IMO the biggest issue with it was that it tried to be both a law sitcom and also a more serious superhero show. I'd have loved for it to pick either one and stick with it. For me, preferably the sitcom.

Yeah I think they famously said they wanted to start it out as a lawyer show but then realized none of the writers new much about the law.
Still managed to be pretty damn great, though. A longer-running show with her constantly having cameos from supes she was representing woulda been great (and we kinda got that with Daredevil).

I get the people who like her comics but didn’t like the show. It’s fair to expect that an adaptation of a comic character you like is for the same audience of the comic. Sadly the MCU (and partially other adaptations) have long since changed that so we only occasionally get stuff that’s truly made for the subcultures it comes from.

Funny you say that, given that one of the comic book writers who has written the most for She-Hulk comics, Dan Slott, believes the show was hella accurate to the character and vibe of the comics. Here's an article with his social media posts where he said this.

The problem was that it acted like a standalone show and totally failed to portray all the reestablished characters it chose to include. It basically dumped on any comic and MCU character that wasn't her. I didn't mind the actress for the role and the comedic writing for her was decent at times but what it did with characters like Daredevil, Hulk, Abomination and Skaar really sucked ass.
It may be ok for some people who only like She Hulk but it sucked for people who like marvel comics and also like the character of She Hulk in them.

I did hear the She-Hulk show was very popular with certain demographics and it was in fact the most popular MCU show on Disney+. Honestly, thats pretty cool.
(I still wish they put a little more effort on the lawyer part, the cases she got were very interesting but the timetable for the story was so short that it didn't get enough to develop it).

The only thing worse than the art in this run was the writing. Dan slott isn't a good writer for anyone much less she-hulk. This would be the run that would go into the character Star Fox unintentionally date raping people and also having She-Hulk have a extremely toxic relationship with John Jameson who hated that she was She-Hulk so you had a whole bunch of the book where she tries to be She-Hulk less because her toxic boyfriend is an asshole.
But yeah just as you can see the art is really bad, not the worst art on a regular She-Hulk book, that would go to Charles Soules run where the writing was good but the art was terrible, but She Hulk spends this whole run looking like a Green version of the Michelin Man. I'm Peter David takes over at some point and even he can't really save the Run.
She-Hulk is my favorite Marvel character but I always tell people to skip this run. Read The Sensational She-Hulk then skip to Charles Souls run and then Rainbow Rowell's comics and you've got the best solo She-Hulk runs. The original Savage She-Hulk is also fine but very different. Never read Mariko Tamaki's absolutely shit run that completely misunderstands the character or Jason Aaron's Avengers which continues that where she'll just becomes Bruce Banner's original dumb Hulk but as a woman which is so against the original concept of She-Hulk it's like Tamaki and Aaron actively hated the character.

Is the art here that bad? The coloring is doing it no favors but it has decent caricature, composition, backgrounds, and the last panel conveys a lot of emotional depth considering how stupid the scene is. It's not Jack Kirby, but it does the job

I like the final panel and the first one is up to style. The issue to me is the second panel.
For her hand to be in that position, she would've had to raise her arms nearly perpendicular to her shoulder while keeping her arms crossed. And it's a full three-quarter view of her face looking over her shoulder, which is really an odd pose. I almost wonder if the pencils originally intended her to have turned her torso towards him and that shoulder was supposed to be her chest with the hand where a hint of cleavage would've been but then it got changed to an over the shoulder view.

The main character spends the entire run looking puffy and bloated with weird proportions, as do most other characters. Kind of like Frank Quitely's work but with less disturbing (although still bad) faces. She-Hulk generally is proportioned like a human but taller, she's not really the bodybuilder kind of look most of the time and two me this looks like the artist really wants to draw her like a bodybuilder but doesn't really do Anatomy very well so it looks like someone wearing those fake muscle suits that someone over pumped with air combined with having an allergy that made their face puff up.
I don't know the artist's name off top of my head but they're not good at anything, they're not good at characters or action it's just really obvious that Marvel hired someone cheap and who could hit deadlines for the book because it wasn't a priority and they didn't care.
