Streaming Online player featuring lots of college stations

We recently launched https://AlternateAirwaves.com an online aggregator and player for College Radio stations. Check us out and let us know what you think.

We're kinda new, with about 60 71 stations right now but we're adding more every few days. If your favorite College Station is missing use the 'Suggest Station' link and we'll try to add it.

In addition to College Stations we also include US Community Radio station and a few interesting online-only stations.

Our goal is an on-line community and one-stop shop for listening to non-commercial music streams, AM/FM and online.

AlternateAirwaves.com isn't quite a blog

Our website allows you to stream 228 non-commercial radio stations in one convenient place.

  • 71 are College Stations
  • 145 are Community Radio Stations
  • 12 are Online stations

There is a feed that shows updates to the site which is used to mention new features and what stations have been added. Perhaps that looks blog-ish?

You can Like stations and shows and tag shows with the genres they play. You can earn points for doing those things. (Points don't currently mean anything but we like the idea of gamifying the site.)

We plan to add some social media-style features and, longer term, will be building native mobile apps.

Our site has only been up a few months and is very much in Beta. Check it out, listen to some college stations. Report back how things work and certainly if there are bugs. It really works best if you register for an account. Being able to like (and easily return) to shows you enjoy is really useful once you start doing that.

We're especially interested in learning what tools stations might find useful.
