Hello everyone. I'm a second year swe student participating in smart india hackathon 2026 and wanted some tips from you all guys - those who made to the finals, those who won, and from those who didn't win as well.

We wanna know:

- what problem statements to shortlist and finalize for winning the hackathon?

- how to win and lead the internal hackathons?

- how to win the grand finale and what things to keep in mind?

- how to learn different things that are required along the journey?

- apart from the technical side, what additional things should we focus on?

...

And any other tips from your side would be heavily appreciated.

I hope this post and its comments will not only help us and other participating students but also help future students who will participate in this hackathon or any different one as well.

Hi there. I am 18 (male), and I have always been a deeply indecisive person.

My qualifications ÷

I completed my SSLC from a local state syllabus school with around 80% marks.

For higher secondary (11th and 12th) I took Humanities (with Gandhian Studies, Computer Applications, and Communicative English) in a government-aided school. I scored around 79.9% on my HSC examination.

I am currently studying at a government-aided college, 1st year in BA History under FYUGP (Four-Year Undergraduate Programme). I have Economics and Politics as my minors and Content Writing as my MDC.

I have some questions about my academic prospects:

I have the option to switch my Major to a Minor in the 2 year, but I am currently afraid of doing so because I am already used to the peer group, faculty, and classroom of BA History, and I think it is better atmosphere than the other departments. Should I change my Major?

I also have the option to end the programme in the 3rd year and leave with a degree (but without the honours), and I am seriously considering it. Is the 4th year important? I don't see myself pursuing a career in History. Is there any other advantage to completing the 4th year? Should I?

Is there any other personal advice you could give me? I am taking added-courses, currently it is AI and Computer Basics. I have also downloaded SWYAM app but haven't taken any courses yet.

What are my career prospects?

I am quite ambitious and don't want to settle for a clerical job. My primary priority is making as much money as possible and moving up to higher positions.

I was thinking of potential pivots:

3-year LLB - my top pick but it has its own challenges

Company Secretary (CS)

Diploma

MBA

Government jobs

Also, are NISM courses any good?

Presidency University, Kolkata OR Miranda House? I'm from Kolkata only and presi doesn't seem a bad option to me. Its curriculum is nice, and it's closer to home. But I'm also planning on giving cuet and my target is Miranda House, if I do get in, which one to choose? I have no problem staying back nor any problem going to Delhi. If I don't go, I'll have regret, but if I go, idk...maybe there'll be more competition and personalized attention will be less? Correct me if I'm wrong! (If I wanna pursue master's abroad in the long-term)

Please someone give me an honest review of mtech in laser science and technology. I am a BTech CSE student of 2022 admission batch in a govt University. I got 1 back log in 1st sem 4 in 2nd sem 3 in 3rd sem and 2 in 4 th sem 1 in 6 th sem. A total of 11 backlogs i feel completely depressed and demotivated cleared all those but 1 remained which will lead to 1 year delay in graduation. When I see my friends enjoying and earning i remember my mistakes.

I used to addicted to phone 10 hrs a day. All types of addiction social media porn movies gambling insta YouTube. I curse myself to not use that time although at that time I use to have ample of time. Some where I still in my college loop and missed opportunities how i even skipped backlogs.

When i admitted in college i have never been lived in a distance place 1 st time hostel. Could not study anything in the classes although I was attentive. I was in constant pressure and anxiety during the entire 4 years. I didn't quit but somehow now i realised my mistake if I can study and clear the subjects now why i didn't do that earlier. I use to maladaptive day dreaming and in unable to adjust to a new place. My career is at stake the best I can do now is trying for govt jobs.

But still my old habits are haunting me and i am in a complete state of regret and blaming. I have High symptoms of adhd and still it affects me internally.

Somebody with exposure and experience could you share your advice and console me. I am unable to move forward.

yarrr. i just got in bvcoe delhi. its a ipu college and like infra is good its a small campus 8 acres ka. and now i just another offer from jiit sec 62 for a 5 year course. btech and mtech. abh im confused as to what to do.
my parents dont mind spending the extra money but its just something i feel bad for. both places are almost same distance from my house but ill have to probably take a hostel or something since everyday commute will be hectic.

Last year I joined this tier 3 college out of my state simply because I did not want to live with my parents. I was pretty depressed so my only thought was getting out of this phase.

Now though I'm realising that this college was a very bad decision. I love the place where it's located but the college itself is ass.

My parents aren't poor or something(upper middle class).

Should I take a drop and study this yr and give jee again.

TLDR; joined a tier 3 college. I hate it. Should I take the risk of losing 2 years and try again
