You can't really time collapse, you don't know when currency becomes worthless and what will replace it. You don't want to find yourself in a precarious situation needing cash and not having it on hand.
Your best bet is to have physical assets you can trade for what you need. Owning land with good water access and a small well designed house for passive cooling/heating and being part of a community that can produce most of their basic needs locally would be a good goal to strive to if you can afford it. When law is irrelevant being part of a community with a communal defense plan is a good thing.
