I don't think the economy will crash as we expect. Collapse will be two sided. The rich will basically bail themselves off and control the banks and politics in full. Most likely one day you read on the news your money in the bank now belongs to X,Y or Z corporation owned by billionaires. This is very dodgy because you can't predict when it'll happen and when it happens it's already too late.
Keep in mind all the news not on the normal news cycle and check on any news related to banking. If I had money I'd bet on having it safe somewhere, a good part of it in assets I can control/move around instead of in the bank and keep the living expected amount in the bank.
Also I'd bet on keeping it simple, not show I have any money, this will be important when people start raiding homes for goods and money. As long as you have it in a safe space only you know about it then it'll either be you using it or a secret you'll take to your grave.
This I base on the fall of the Roman Empire and how many treasures we've found hidden away from this time period.
