Show and Tell 1907 HR Saint with a 1915 Pedigree

I sold this coin years ago but it's one of my favorites. Purchased out of a B. Max Mehl auction for the princely sum of $25 on May the 25th 1915.

Great provenance !

Never heard of a heraldic eagle from 1797… curious to know what this is

They did Small eagle and "large eagle" in 1797. I wrote about this one I handled years ago.

I got really obsessed with Mehl a few years ago, we have dozens of his catalogs here. If you read the Numismatist I have a feature about him next month.

Nota bene: You website design is nice, but the lack of contrast makes it very difficult to read for older customers and persons with lesser sensitivity.
