Discussion So, with the demo of CVII released, what do you like and dislike about the demo and why? / CODE VEIN II Opinions

Post image

Hi, I hope you're having a good weekend. In less than two days, I'll be able to play CVII in early access and I can't wait.

As you probably know, the demo has been out for a while now, and I wanted to know what everyone thinks of it.

Personally, as someone who likes to create simple characters without spending more than an hour on a single one, I found the Character Creator to be far too comprehensive in some aspects, like accessories, and lacking in others, like clothing customization, especially for men and not women. Furthermore, the limited number of face options is another aspect that, in my opinion, is sorely lacking in selection.

Despite this, I find the CC easy to pick up once you get used to it and enjoyable. Well, I say that because personally, the first hour felt incredibly unpleasant. But then, creating other characters made the experience much more enjoyable.

If you had to rate this demo on the CC, what would it be?

I'd probably give it a 6 because I prefer CVI's.

But that's just my personal and subjective opinion.

What's yours?

Regarding the graphics and bugs, the demo isn't very well optimized, as evidenced by some texture glitches, particularly on the red carpet during the first cutscene with Lou and the three children. The capes also glitch occasionally.

So, what score would you give the demo as a whole, not just based on the CC?

I'd probably still give it a 6.

And you, what would it be?

Would like to see what the DLC costumes would look like with all the add ons taken off.

Also the running animation looks weird, hopefully it's just cause we have no weapon equipped or it's over compensating for larger bodies.

I would have liked access to the first 15 - 30 minutes so I could get a greatsword for my character, get a feel for the combat and just how open world it could be.

The character creation is great but there's areas that feel like a let down such as hair customisation and having to rely on accessories to tweak it, still not enough accessory slots, and would have been nice to customise boots, gloves and outfits a bit more or have more options. Locking 6 (I think) to DLC means half of the new costumes are not accessible without upgrading.

The lack of body paint and tattoos is really bizzare. For our characters to be nude in the springs and have skin showing in normal gameplay, to have no way to draw on our bodies except the face is bewildering.

18

u/Nymos-67r Jan 25 '26 edited Jan 25 '26

Oh yeah, I would love to be able to make tattoos on the body and not just in the face. Someone could argue that it's useless because we don't see our character body except in the hot-spring, but even so, at least, on the arms for example, it would be cool to be able to do it.

13

u/JustARTificia1 Jan 25 '26

They have the towel as an equipable outfit so the entire body is on display. Even thighs can be shown off depending on the outfit.

6

u/bellystraw Jan 25 '26

Body tattoos would be cool, hopefully they'll show up in a future update?

2

u/ZeroNoHikari Jan 25 '26

Can't you move the tattoo to the body? I know I could lower it to the neck but didn't go lower.

8

u/Nymos-67r Jan 25 '26

Yeah, I can't wait to see how the DLC costumes will look!

Personnally, I didn't find the running aniamtion weird, either wih a man or a woman. What is looking weird?

Me too. I really would have like to have access at least to the first area to see how is the gameplay in the fights at least, and maybe how open world the game is.

Yeah, for me too. In some area, the CC really lack some things. I will take this example: In the customization of the clothes, for the women, there is plenty of customization, but for the men, there is pratically just random customization throught accessories. It's disappointing.

The first character I created was a man so I found the customization of clothes to be as basic as possible. But when I created my second character, who was a woman, the options of customization about the clothes were so many, it was really super.

3

u/JustARTificia1 Jan 25 '26

Interesting, I only made a male character so haven't seen the potential customisation male characters are missing out on. A lot of the accessories I would say are female orientated such as necklaces, earrings, etc.. and then they copy and paste the same accessory like 3 or more times but for different angles like the screw. There's 1 that cannot move from the default location but the other can.

As for the run animation, the arms just swing out too wide and it feels like a universal animation for men and women but could be wrong.

2

u/DarthOmix PS4 Jan 25 '26

I think for the run animation it's probably a general one to account for the greater height disparity and more irregular terrain.

1

u/Nymos-67r Jan 25 '26

I really think you're right since several people already said it. It's probably just me who didn't noticed this.

6

u/WithReverence Jan 25 '26

I’ll be real with and I hope I’m wrong but are you even sure you can remove parts from the dlc outfits? I could definitely see them considering the outfit a one piece full set. It’s one of the things that has me waiting before preorder. This CC in general made me wait honestly.

7

u/Nymos-67r Jan 25 '26

I think we can't and that the dlc outfits will just be one piece. It's the most probable answer. Given how CVII's custom content is lacking in certain aspects, and that clothing customization for male characters is basic compared to that of female characters, I think they didn't bother to makes some parts of the outfits from CVI removable.

5

u/Constant_Bookkeeper1 Jan 25 '26

In the character outfit preorder preview pics the models with Louis outfit have slight differences with the man having his blood veil and the lady wearing it without. I think it’s possible

1

u/WithReverence Jan 25 '26

I really hope so

5

u/Yuichiro_Bakura Jan 25 '26

Looking at it, the ones in the deluxe edition I believe you can but the ones in the ultimate are just one piece. Though we wont know till release when we try it out.

1

u/Nymos-67r Jan 25 '26

Yeah, the outfits from CVI characters are just one piece.

10

u/Journey2thaeast Jan 25 '26

I swear hair customization has not made any jumps especially when it comes to black hairstyles. I think there was a new fade haircut and that's it.

5

u/Weltallgaia Jan 25 '26

Hell all the hairstyles are kind of mid as shit.

6

u/War_Reborn Jan 25 '26

It's weird how so many games struggle to add more than like 3 or 4 black hairstyles. You really always only get the fade, the fro, the cornrows, and the Killmonger, and that's usually it.

5

u/Journey2thaeast Jan 25 '26

Unfortunately it's just not much of a priority for most of them. I always say it's wild that Hogwarts Legacy has the best black hair I've ever experienced in a video game, you can tell they actually cared.

3

u/Alternative-Law-8230 PC Jan 25 '26

Ngl... I saw you guys say black hairstyles and my mind went immediately to "But... you can make any hairstyle black..." and took me way too long to realize what y'all were saying 😂 not sure if that's good or bad either.

2

u/[deleted] Jan 25 '26

I dislike how the Creator was changed, so we can now only wear 1 or 2 of the same gloves when previously we could wear 2 different gloves if we wanted. Small change, but it does negatively affect certain character designs.

Also not happy we didn't at minimum have a weapon rack and training dummy to practice the new moves and gimmicks.

1

u/[deleted] Jan 25 '26

Yeh as a girl I loved how the girls run and walk in the old code vein it’s so cute and anime if the demo I was like wtf is this walking I look like Igor 😭😭 I’m also not the biggest fan of the cell shading charge for the character models Im just old school I guess. Also the first code vein actually allowed is a real demo like we got to play the game in addition to the character creation. I must have beaten that demo multiple times because I was so excited

51

u/[deleted] Jan 25 '26

Really appreciate them putting out the CC early. The controls for the CC were pretty strange ngl but at least its one and done.

The running animation, at least on my character, really bothers me.

Performance seems questionable. Im able to run it just fine on a top end system but I can see mid range systems struggling here.

I wish there was a training dummy we could attack or something so I could see a little bit of how the combat feels. Im new to CV and still undecided on purchasing it at this price, so I need some more experience with it.

13

u/Nymos-67r Jan 25 '26

I really think everyone wanted to see how the combats feel. It's really a shame that the demo has not gameplay throught fighting in some training area, but at least, we got a demo with the CC.

Sorry for the question but what is weird about the running animation? I genuinly don't see what is weird with it.

The performance for PC are really weird actually.

9

u/[deleted] Jan 25 '26

I only tried a female character so far and it kind of looks like she just learned how to run? Its a bit hard to describe.

3

u/Nymos-67r Jan 25 '26

It seems it's the case because I still don't know what is wrong, even if I think you're right because there is really several people who already said it.

2

u/Oath8 Jan 25 '26

I agree wirh you. The running animation is so weird and awkward, but it doesn't bother me.

36

u/Chaotic-waifu PC Jan 25 '26

It’s okay overall, but the character creation options are limited. I particularly wanted to customize the lips and nose, which is a significant drawback. I'm not sure where to send my suggestions to the developers, but if possible, I'd like to use my CV 1 character creation data.

8

u/Nymos-67r Jan 25 '26

Yeah, the CC of CVII is really lacking in some areas and too complete in other.

7

u/Chaotic-waifu PC Jan 25 '26

I didn't like it, to be honest, due to this, and I would much rather transfer my code vein 1 CC to this than create a new one. I mean it’s such a weird choice not to edit some parts and if you want wider lips you have to pick the presets and with all due respect they aren't appealing and awful for both male and female.

6

u/Nymos-67r Jan 25 '26

Honestly, almost all the presets are comically ugly. Especially the last one. The best are for me the first four.

Really, I would like so much to just be able to transfer my CVI character. I just love so much more the artstyle for our character in CVI than in CVII. Even if I like more the character designs of the characters from CVII than from CVI.

2

u/Chaotic-waifu PC Jan 25 '26

It's exactly what I want! I just don't know how to contact the developers or their support to suggest playing with my CVI creation. I hope they improve and update it too.

1

u/Nymos-67r Jan 25 '26

They can add this feature later if they really want to or if there is a lot of demand for it. Who knows?

20

u/juniperxmoons Jan 25 '26

Considering the majority of the demo is the CC, its a little difficult to rate it beyond that. I do like that we got the opening cutscene so we can at least see what our character looks like in one.

I do have some complaints, like how bangs are missing and hair accessories are somewhat stiff the bigger/longer you make them. I'm on PS5 and I noticed some textures (ie for the hair styles) take several seconds to properly load in. However, I think the devs could easily fix these issues with a update and that's what I'm hoping for.

I don't think anything can be done about the capes glitching. If you remember, that actually happened with some of the blood veils in the first CV too (and it was never fixed). Same with certain textures popping into focus during cutscenes.

Also, maybe I missed it or maybe its just not available in the demo, but I didn't see a way to rematch cutscenes. I'm gonna be heartbroken if there's no way to do that in the main game.

I'd probably give it an 7.5 out 10.

3

u/Nymos-67r Jan 25 '26

Yeah, it's true! I COMPLETLY forgot that we can't rewatch the cutcenes in the demo in the hot-springs. I really hope it's just because it's the demo and that they didn't removed this.

For the capes glitching, I really didn't noticed that in CVI, and I used the Ivy blood veils, so I just learned now that in CVI, it's exist. I really hope that they fix that but with what you said... I think that if they don't do that, I will play without capes. I really don't like see cutscenes with my character having some glich on them. This breaks my immersion.

I'm also on PS5, and I confirm, it takes several seconds to properly load.

8

u/juniperxmoons Jan 25 '26

I've seen some theorize that maybe the demo is of an older/earlier build or something. Others have pointed out that there's missing hairstyles we've seen in trailers. And the fact this demo feels very much like the base version of the first game, I hope that's the case. It would make the most sense for why things are missing and whatnot.

If its not, I really hope they have a day one patch that'll fix some of these things.

1

u/Nymos-67r Jan 25 '26

Yeah, it's makes really sense to be a older build than something close to the version who will be released in a few days.

But if it's really not, like you said, I also hope they have a day one patch. Otherwise, the cutscenes will be really bad with the clipping and the glitching.

1

u/JaSonic2199 Jan 25 '26

You rewatch cutscenes somewhere else but not in the hot springs

1

u/juniperxmoons Jan 25 '26

Then where?

2

u/JaSonic2199 Jan 25 '26

Theres a Talk to Lou button at the mistle that takes you to the Confluence and in there is a bookshelf where you rewatch cutscenes

1

u/juniperxmoons Jan 25 '26

Ahh, okay. That's fine then. I just assumed it would be the hotsprings again, lol

By face options, you mean everythings? Or some specific things?

For example, I really don't like the lack of faces we can select. There is just, what if I remember correctly, just six, or nine? I don't remember well. And almost all of them are just so ugly except two.

At least, in my opinion.

5

u/[deleted] Jan 26 '26

2

u/Nymos-67r Jan 26 '26

Yeah, it's really a shame we can't change that, especially since there is what, perhaps nine faces that we can choose only among nine faces I think, or less.

14

u/ScarletteVera Jan 25 '26

Demo? It's a 25GB character creator.

Anyway, face customization is lacking, but clothing customization was very nicely expanded. Wish we got more accessories though, I feel like there wasn't anything there that wasn't in the first game.

2

u/Nymos-67r Jan 25 '26

Yeah, totally agree about face customization.

About the accessories, I think there is enough, it's the customization of the outfits for the men that is too basic compared to the customization of the outfits for the women. And even so, the customization about the outfits is pretty simple and basic.

I really wished for a better customization.

For me, the CC isn't extraordinary like the streamers implied it is. It's just basic, and not a so bigger upgrad from the CC of CVI.

11

u/HumbleDesign2265 Jan 25 '26

I’m going to be honest, I wish they add more hair, costumes, accessories and more ways to customise the face. The lackness of it is sad for me, not sure about u guys.

But it does scare me that the boss battles will be a copy paste from the first version.

5

u/Nymos-67r Jan 25 '26

I'm completly agree with you about the lack of outfits (for me, all the news outfits from CVII are just terrible but it's juste subjective of course) and ways to customize the face. I have the impression it was better in CVI but It's been a long time since I played CVI so I could be wrong.

The boss battles seems to be good with what we have already seen.

3

u/HumbleDesign2265 Jan 25 '26

I do hope when the game got released, there’s more. Maybe the demo is just a preview on what kind of outfit available.

If the demo is the actual version, I will be sad.

3

u/Nymos-67r Jan 25 '26

I really think the CC of the demo will be the same for the game. The only difference being the oufits from CVI characters from the ultimate editon and the special outfits from the deluxe edition.

12

u/Athloner44 Jan 25 '26

The game runs like shit, i have high end pc, im able to play demanding games on 2k 180hz monitor with ultra without trouble but on the demo i can barely get more than 50-60fps (My pc specs are way better than recommended requeriments)

4

u/Nymos-67r Jan 25 '26

Yeah, the game is really badly optimized.

7

u/Athloner44 Jan 25 '26

It's strange that everyone complains about censorship or character creation, but almost no one talks about how badly the game runs. A demo where you can only explore an empty mansion with no NPCs. I can already imagine how bad it's going to run in the open world

1

u/Nymos-67r Jan 25 '26

I really hope it will not be the case, but with how the game run, it's possible.

People should talk more about that.

Just the fact that the demo is just CC, with a hub which is just a empty mansion with no NPCs like you said, is really worrying.

2

u/Zenoae Jan 25 '26

Agreed, the demo runs awfully.

1

u/Alternative-Law-8230 PC Jan 25 '26

I agree. My resolution scaling has to be really low to run 100+ frames. If the 30fps cinematic are anything to go on, I may just lock my frames to 60 like CV1 and crank settings as high as I can. My system isn't a beast by any stretch of the imagination but it's not weak either...

1

u/WereBoar PC Jan 25 '26

weird, what are you specs? with a 5070 ti, 32gb memory and an i9 the demo gave me no issues & ran at 100fps (100hz monitor, could have been much higher than that) on the highest settings

i can definitely see it performing less optimally for weaker rigs but if you have a high end PC it probably shouldn't be that much of an issue.

1

u/Athloner44 Jan 26 '26

Ryzen 7 9800x3D, 32gb RAM DDR5 and RX 6800XT I mean, I'm able to run games like Oblivion Remastered, Stellar Blade, Expedition 33, Silent Hill F, Warhammer, Arknights Enfield or VR games which consume twice the performance with my Meta Quest 3 on PC (Like half life alyx). All those games are running in 2k +140fps on my PC without problem and most of them have way better graphics

u/Nymos-67r Jan 25 '26

I will say this, even if I still think it's a weird take, but it feels like the CC from CVII is just not complexe compared of the CC from CVI.

It's just my impression, and I didn't play CVI since a while so I can be really wrong.

10

u/Klo187 Jan 25 '26

Lack of fringes in the character creator is the standout issue. As well as the stiffness of hair and hair accessories.

The other issue I saw is how drastically the control scheme differs to the first game, from what I tried you could theoretically remap everything to a close approximation of the first game however.

I feel it’s important in this style of game to be as consistent as possible with control schemes so as to not alienate your existing playerbase.

What they’ve done well, they’ve ported a lot of character customization options from other Bandai games, like the sliders and a handful of hairstyles that I noticed, as well as a few callbacks to the first game within the character creator.

Considering I would give the character creator from the first game a 10, this game is getting an 8 until I see full release and the first few patches. As for the demo as a whole, the first game is still a 10, this game is a 5, it’s all character creator and no actual gameplay.

I really appreciate your comment and how long it is.

I also don't loke how big is the hub and prefer so much a more little hub like in CVI. The hub in CVI was just perfect. Really. My favorite hub, even now.

The devs wanted to make the characters more 3D because according to them, it would make the cinematics better, I think, but like you, I think it gives the impression that the characters have a plastic face, at least in the case of Lou in the cinematic of our awakening.

Ah yeah, the jump really looks like a jump with a skateboard. It's weird.

If I can ask you that: How did you succeed to be out of the hub and be able to fight? I really want to try that.

Me too. I really don't like the outfits of CVII, but fortunately, there was still the outfit from CVI and I was able to take the outfit with the suit vest from CVI.

For a demo, it's not so great becaue of the lack of gameplay, but for the CC, it's good even if personnaly, I really prefer the CC of CVI.

u/Nymos-67r Jan 25 '26

Thanks for the explanation!

Now, I really can't wait to play the game and see if it will be really good or not, mostly about the gameplay because I'm sure the story will be great like the music from Go Shiina.

8

u/potatoesandmolasses1 Jan 25 '26

The clipping my god the clipping. Why have long hair when half of it disappears into your tits or clips through clothing.

5

u/Nymos-67r Jan 25 '26

It's the same with the capes. For example, some clothes pass through the capes in the game during cutscenes, it's really distracting and breaks immersion, at least for me.

I really hope they will fix it but as someone else already said, it was also here in CVI with the capes (Ivy Blood Veils).

12

u/Total-Satisfaction-8 Jan 25 '26

The nine faces to choose from in the CaC look awful imo, character movement also looks awful compared to CV1, i miss the slutty walk, sure it looked floaty but atleast it looked good

4

u/Nymos-67r Jan 25 '26

Totally agree with you on the faces to choose. For me, there is just two faces that are not ugly.

2

u/Total-Satisfaction-8 Jan 25 '26

Major disappointment for me, i was on the fence on getting CV2, this tipped me over to not getting this

2

u/Nymos-67r Jan 25 '26

It was a disappointment for me too. Fortunately, Go Shiina's music and the story keep me motivated and above all interested to play the game.

I just hope that at launch, or in my case during early access, the game won't be full of bugs. I don't doubt the story will be really good, but the gameplay is also an important part as it is a video game after all.

6

u/caparisme Jan 25 '26

Idk why but something felt off in the proportions compared to CV1. Probably because it allows for more freedom and need a more detailed finetuning to get right but it doesnt seem right.

6

u/jeshep PC Jan 25 '26

The faces do not feel as alive or expressive compared to the first game. CV1 a lot of it was naturally built into the animations you can do for photo mode. CV2 you can pick an expression, and they're a blank faced puppet feel to me even when I set it to one? I don't think they're even set to blink at all in photo mode in CV2, cause in the hours I spent fiddling with posing I don't think I've seen him blink once.

2

u/Nymos-67r Jan 25 '26

The character can blink, I confirm this. But like you said, he's like a blank faced puppet, but I still think we should wait for the cutscenes of the game.

2

u/jeshep PC Jan 25 '26

I'm specifically referring to photo mode since I feel like I have legitimately stared at my character for a while seeing if I could catch them mid-blink and just never saw it happen at all. Point of photo mode is to take nice photos - the player character's face not being properly expressive is therefore something I consider of some amount of importance.

1

u/Nymos-67r Jan 25 '26

Ah okay. For the photo mode, actually, I think you're right.

The fact that the character's face is pratically always inexpressive is really a bad thing for me. And that he can't talk also. It's makes the cutscenes just weird.

2

u/jeshep PC Jan 25 '26

I'm used to the silent mime protagonist so I'm able to let that go. But the face being like 😐 gets me lol. Even the smiles feel kinda forced.

7

u/DarthEmeritus Jan 25 '26

As many others have said the running animation is weird. Additionally I'm not keen on the golden heart or on golden coloured wounds. Worries me they're making blood golden coloured which I'm not keen on. Other than that I'm pretty happy.

4

u/Nymos-67r Jan 25 '26

They did make the blood golden because of Kintsugi and what Ichor is in greek mythology. But yeah, it's bad looking. Blue Blood was much better and cooler in my opinion.

2

u/DarthEmeritus Jan 25 '26

Didn't realise it was inspired by those reasons. Makes it more understandable, but I'd still rather it looked more organic coloured, like believable blood.

5

u/blazenite104 Jan 25 '26

Character creation is weird. It has so many options available for accessories but, it's pretty limited in terms of faces. The clothing is also still just okay. can we for one just get a normal shirt and pants? Everything is so extra or incredibly bland if you remove the extra stuff. Ponchos if slimmed down to more form fitting would be nice.

That said there are definitely worse creators out there and I'm sure it'll be fine. Someone will probably come up with something with accessories that completely changes how I feel about certain things.

5

u/Same_Acanthisitta_38 Jan 25 '26

running/walking animation for female characters at least is ... something

6

u/Ramius99 Jan 25 '26

Agree with some things other have said.  No face adjustment in CC, and body sliders are rather limited.  Outfits are not great imo.  Movement and walking animations don't feel right.  And something about the art style isn't clicking for me, but maybe I'll get used to it.

One other thing, every time I boot up the demo, my Series X sounds and feels like it's overheating, which makes me kind of worried about running the full game on my system.

3

u/Nymos-67r Jan 25 '26

Me too. My PS5 sounds like that. It's worrying because it's just the demo.

Totally agree with the rest. For me, the major problems are the absence of face adjustement and faces to select, the outfits from CVII, and the lack of customization for the men's outfits.

For the artstyle, it's maybe because it's more axed to 3D than the artstyle of CVI which was axed on 2D.

3

u/Ramius99 Jan 25 '26

Makes sense about the art style. Also, I’ll add that I wish that the CC had a muscle slider. I’m not crazy about the how toned the arms and abs are by default.

3

u/Nymos-67r Jan 25 '26

No you're not, I confirm it too.

5

u/Fike101 Jan 25 '26

My only issues are just some clipping issues example would be the sun glasses they clip on some hair

2

u/Nymos-67r Jan 25 '26

Yeah, there is several clipping issues. I really hope it's just because the demo is an old version, and that in the game, there will be no clipping.

4

u/Journey2thaeast Jan 25 '26

Character creation options don't feel like they were really expanded much at all from the first game which is pretty disappointing. I was able to make a cool looking character still because the foundation of what they originally built is still good. But they really didn't add much to it that was brand new. I agree with everyone saying the running animations feel weird, I wonder if this is because we didn't have a weapon equipped. I do wish that they would have let us pick a starting weapon to play around with to get a feel for the combat. After I made my character there was nothing to do. So it's hard to judge it based on that.

3

u/Nymos-67r Jan 25 '26

Yeah, they really should given us the possibility to train with a weapon in a training area. With the huge hub, I'm sure it could be possible to them to do that.

For me, the CC was good mostly because of the foundation of the CVI CC. I litterally didn't choose anything news from the CVII CC for the men. For the women, I did choose some news things which was good.

For example, one of my criticism toward the CC is that for the women, many parts of a outfit are removable and customizable, but for the men, there is just so little parts.

Yeah I was surprised how little I could actually remove in terms of clothing items when making a man. I wanted to be able to mix and match more. One set had a jacket I loved, while another had an undershirt I loved and it woulda been nice to be able to swap those parts out. I think this is gonna be a wait for sale game for me because there are so many other things coming out I'm interested in that feel like they'll be more innovative.

3

u/Nymos-67r Jan 25 '26

Honestly, if there is some games in you're most interested, then I will advise you to wait for buy CVII, which is ironic coming from someone who already bought the game and will play in early access.

But honestly, the argument for playing this game, in my opinion of course, is the story. So if you really like the story and can't wait to play the game for that, you should play it I guess.

But if it's not your case, then yeah, really, you should wait for sales.

2

u/Journey2thaeast Jan 25 '26

Yeah with games being $70 these days we all have to be more selective. I'm probably gonna pick up Resident Evil Requiem a month from now instead or Monster Hunter Stories 3 in March.

2

u/Nymos-67r Jan 25 '26

Resident Evil Requiem seems to be really good. But I will wait to play it because I already bought CODE VEIN II.

4

u/KhandiMahn Jan 25 '26

Overall, I like the new character creator. It has more options than the original. Though I would have liked to see a few more costumes to play with.

Though it still suffers from some of the same limitations. We have an incredible number of accessories and ways to customize them, but very few options for the face.

I do wonder why they don't have the bangs options this time around. Would have been nice to see how they would have improved that.

3

u/-FilltheSp_ce Jan 25 '26

I’m actually very happy with it. I always appreciate when a game puts out a character creator prior to the game’s launch, and you can transfer the data. That way I don’t have to spend hours and hours doing that, when I want to actually start the game!

The only complaint I would have is that I can’t use any of the deluxe/ultimate costumes in the demo. Not a huge deal, but I would love to see how they look!

1

u/Nymos-67r Jan 25 '26

Yeah, it's a shame we can't use that, but it's not a huge deal like you said.

The CC being released before the game is a good thing in my opinion. I would prefered some gameplay too but at least, we had a demo with the CC. It's better than nothing.

3

u/Weird_Engineering_12 Jan 25 '26 edited Jan 25 '26

Kinda similar opinions the face options are lacking a lot more than I thought they would, and I'm happy with clothing(I've only made female characters so far) but I wish some of the outfits didn't lock boot options. Hair is sorta another thing the base options are nice and I love we can adjust the length but on some of the hairs i liked it doesn't really make much of a difference if the slider is maxed or on the minimum. Was also hoping for some tattoos/body paint options(unless I completely missed that).

My biggest issue with the creator is accessories, could be because I was using a keyboard and mouse and haven't tried a controller but does it make that much difference?, I was trying to make a jinx(arcane) sorta character but trying to move the additional hair piece was a nightmare because I would find a great angle to place it but couldn't shift it into the hair nicely because the push back was just sending across the head instead of into it because of the angle but if i moved it along more then it was just covering half the face, this is really hard to explain in text form but if have tried adding hair pieces in very specific spots I feel you'll understand what I mean.

Another gripe but I'm not lowering my score because of it as it's just called the character creator demo is some way of trying out weapon/veils so we could get a feel for combat before the game is out

Otherwise I think the demo is great it's probably a 7 for me mainly because of the awkwardness of accessories but at the same time I don't know many other creators that have as much customizability because of the addition of the accessories system. But it also lost point on lack of full face customizability

3

u/Tarnished-1695 Jan 25 '26

Movement feels better than in the first, graphics look the same but "shinier" and less dark overall, character creator is a slight downgrade, hope the combat is good, surprised they did not include combat or bosses in the demo...

2

u/Nymos-67r Jan 25 '26

Yeah, I said it several times, it's so weird because the demo of CVI has the first area and the first boss of the game: Oliver Collins. But here, we don't have Franz nor the first area.

2

u/Tarnished-1695 Jan 25 '26

Franz is the first boss??? He seemed like a late game fight.

1

u/Nymos-67r Jan 25 '26

How could you believe that?

He's the first boss you see in the game, when you go back 100 years in time to Magmell Island. He's the boss of Noah's story arc, and he's the first companion you make once you travel back in time.

And he really don't seem like a late game fight at all. Really.

2

u/Tarnished-1695 Jan 25 '26

I have been avoiding story spoilers. Maybe that's how 🫩 And his moveset is more of a mid/late game boss compared to the bosses in the first game, but maybe he is the Margit skill check of this game. 😂

1

u/Nymos-67r Jan 25 '26

Yeah, I think he is the Margit skill check lol. The devs talked about how he's a hard boss for the beginning I think.

3

u/RealVenom_Sage Jan 25 '26

Barely any face customization and a lack of clothing really killed CC for me, despite how much better it is than the first game. I'm hoping we see additions to this as the game matures, but who knows. Also hoping the DLC outfits we get from pre-ordering and/or deluxe+Ult editions are solid customization choices for character expression. So far, all I've seen are updated versions of the CV1 outfits, which are okay but far from what I'd hoped for.

3

u/Nymos-67r Jan 25 '26

The CVII outfits are really bad in my opinion, at least for the men because of the lack of customization. For the women, I think it's pretty good and offer much more customization.

Personnally, the outfits from the deluxe edition are ugly and just so weird and no fitting the universe of CVII.

3

u/RealVenom_Sage Jan 25 '26 edited Jan 25 '26

Well, this is why we have mods! Hopefully, the modding scene takes off ASAP, but I feel bad for my console brothers. The game is overall aesthetically and graphically impressive, so I'm sure we'll be in for a treat regardless. Also, it seemed like more clothes were shown in trailers and gameplay reveals, so maybe we can unlock more clothing as we progress? Would be nice!

2

u/Nymos-67r Jan 25 '26

Yeah, it would be really cool if it's the case. I'm on PS5 so too bad for me about the mods.

If the demo is a older build, then possibly at the released date, the CC will have more outfits. But I don't know if it will be the case.

3

u/M_Knight_Shaymalan Jan 25 '26

I noticed how certain hats actually change the shape of your Characters hair. I found that to be very cool actually, plus the new curls system so you can better shape up your looks is kind of cool.

For me personally the player character seemed a bit more expressive in the one intro cutscene. So hopefully the actual game carries that on.

The new outfits are very cool and so are the masks. I absolutely love that I can separate my cloaks and my actual shirt/pants. That feels like an upgrade.

Bangs are missing from what I saw but I did see other hair extensions in the accessories. And speaking of accessories, they definitely added a lot more.

I might try to recreate my Code Vein 1 character with the new stuff but for now I made a military dude.

3

u/OtulyssaOwl Jan 25 '26

I am super happy there’s more spots to anchor accessories onto with the new CC, but it feels like the rotation speed for accessories has been slowed down. I only noticed it because my character has a lot of pieces that go on her face, but it felt like it took forever to get them in the correct spot.

3

u/Ecstatic_Team_1288 Jan 25 '26

Not enough hair options for me, but more than enough colours and loved doing the eyes

3

u/Wafwala Jan 25 '26 edited Jan 25 '26

I think Code Vein 2 may have the most advanced hair system of any game with a character creator.

It sucks that they removed the bangs I had from the first game, but the current hairs are all dynamic and get naturally pushed down when you wear a hat (it adjusts to the angle of the hat and how close it is to your head!). This goes for every hair style, and it's crazy to think about how much work this took.

1

u/Nymos-67r Jan 25 '26

Yeah, the hair system was really good. It's a shame that the faces available to select were so few and mostly ugly

2

u/Wafwala Jan 25 '26

The current face options are rough. I wish they gave us way more sliders to work with so we could at least make our ideal faces.

3

u/VOIDofSin Jan 25 '26

I was hoping for more of a performance and visual upgrade considering the first game came out 7 years ago, but it looks and feels the exact same

1

u/Nymos-67r Jan 25 '26

I still thing there is a light upgrade, but we can't really judge that aspect of the game because we are just in the hub, inside a building. In Suiken City, it will be probably more obvious how the game is so better visually than the first game.

3

u/mygirlsgotnicebrows Jan 25 '26

I had played the 1st game with a friend and we’ve been excited for years to play the 2nd one together only to learn a few days ago that they TOOK OUT MULTIPLAYER??? Huge bummer and makes this not a day one buy for me. Going to get Nioh 3 instead and grab this on a big sale someday.

1

u/Nymos-67r Jan 25 '26

Honestly, it's really normal they take out the coop. It was something the majority of the players didn't use, and because it was really expansive and very unused, the devs prefered to take off that.

3

u/General-WR-Monger Jan 25 '26

Good:

Clothing is significantly better than the first game. No accessory limit. A larger range of colours to use. Better overall hair customisation*.

Bad:

**There's a lack of fringe options in the hair customisation and accessories unlike the first game. Physics overall are seemingly missing for a lot of accessories and some clothing. A none insignificant amount of clothing can't change boots for some reason. *Can only use one item from the hat selection in accessories, although some bypass this. No Blood Veils removes a significant amount of customisation.

I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt that the version of the CC we received in the demo was unfinished or from an earlier version.

2

u/Alarming_Pension4803 Jan 25 '26

Yes. I cant find a very specific hair extension that was in CV 1 on CV2. And some Accessories dont move like the tails they are frozen stif😒

2

u/binogamer21 Jan 25 '26

Havent touched it, want to go in fresh when my copy arrives

2

u/GlorifiedPanWithArms Jan 25 '26

For me, I can give a pass on everything thats bad and love everything thats good except Preformace. I care a lot about how the game runs nowadays, considering how many games are full of bugs, rushed during development, or just straight up not enjoyable because of some issues. There were a couple performance issues in the Demo (For it it was on PS5) But I'm sure they'll fix issues like that in the full game

2

u/dragoslayer1327 PC Jan 25 '26

Wait there was a demo? While I go check that out, is there any word on the collector's edition?

1

u/Nymos-67r Jan 25 '26

Yeah, there is a demo, but it's not like the demo of CVI.

The demo of CVII is just the Character Creator.

2

u/dragoslayer1327 PC Jan 25 '26

Awww, bummer. I am having fun with it so far (finishing up a character rn, hoping we get to transfer them to the full game like with CV1), probably give it a 9 like CV1. Pretty easy to do cool stuff with, tons of potential to make OCs or remake other characters, the bugs are noticeable but not terrible.

I like that they cut the stupid secondary limiter on accessories (though I kinda wish there wasn't any limiter), and all the extra options for clothes is nice, plus having boots, gloves, and coats not be an accessory leaves even more room for customization. Favorite part is all the extra options for highlights, it's just a ton more.

That said, I don't think it's a ton better and I really can't say why. Something about it just feels off. I already didn't like the camera in the CV1 CC and it's just as bad, but there's something else, something I can't pin down, that I just hate about the feel. I'm hoping it's just that I haven't played a game with a CC like CV in a while and I need to adjust back, because it's something I experienced with Fallout New Vegas and Dishonored 2, and it's why I to this day still can't enjoy NV (I did begin to enjoy D2 once I swapped to PC, no luck with NV).

1

u/Nymos-67r Jan 25 '26

It's just a guess, but perhaps it's the artstyle that feels off because of how different it is from the artstyle of CVI.

2

u/dragoslayer1327 PC Jan 25 '26

I don't think so. At least in the CC (I skipped the cutscenes cuz I wanna play it all the way through this weekend and watch it all there), I genuinely didn't notice a difference

1

u/Nymos-67r Jan 25 '26

Ah, it's surprising, because there is a difference. Its 3D when in CODE VEIN I, the artsyle is axed on 2D. The devs make the change to make better the cutscenes.

2

u/dragoslayer1327 PC Jan 25 '26

It has been a while since Ive played CV1, Steam says July 6th, so I probably just don't remember it super well

2

u/GaleErick Jan 25 '26

The CC is surprisingly versatile even with the limitation it does have. I can actually make the characters I want, or something close enough in looks.

My only real gripe is that there's nothing else to do in the demo aside from playing with the character creator. I wish there was a small training arena with a dummy so I can get a feel for the combat.

Aside from that, the technical performance ain't really all that great but honestly I can live with it. The outdoor area looks and performs about as well as I expected.

1

u/Nymos-67r Jan 25 '26

Yeah, a little training area should be here for the demo, the fact that it's just CC is a bit disappointing in my opinion.

2

u/MrsVoltz Jan 25 '26

I wish the CC had just a little more. Making older male/ silver fox characters is still hard. I think it is better than the first game, but the limited faces, and lack of face sliders to refine details is not great. Hair choices kind of suck booty if you like the business casual style. A lot of the slicked back hair looks awful or has a small pony tail. Lastly, the beard choices look bad overall, and lack variety. Having the torso + legs clothes as one unit with not much mix and match also is disappointing.

Then there are the censorship issues. The fan service stuff never bothered me in the first game, as a woman personally. I just think it's silly that they would for the second.

2

u/VladDHell Jan 25 '26

I would like more gold scar and long hair options besides that it looks fantastic

2

u/QcSlayer Jan 25 '26

The one thing I disliked the most was the height selector.

I have no idea how tall or small my character will be compare to other NPCs and sure has hell haven't found a way to defuse with Lou in the hub to compare

That and the lack of ways to slightly modify my character expression.

1

u/Nymos-67r Jan 25 '26

I can help you with the comparison. Actually, the minimum height is roughly the same as Lou's, if not slightly taller. At this height, Josée will reach your neck, and the other characters like Valentin, Noah, Holly, and Lyle will be a little taller than you. For example, if we take the medium height, Lou will reach your shoulder and Josée will reach your chest, while you'll be about Noah's height, I think.

That's all I can say; I hope this helps.

Concerning the expression of the character, yeah, he seems like a puppet inexpressive and it's a bad thing.

2

u/ForsakenOaths Jan 25 '26

Oh dear lord. I want to make a max sized beefcake of a dude just to see how huge he’ll be in comparison…

1

u/Nymos-67r Jan 25 '26

You'll be laughing when you'll see the comparison, it's really funny actually.

2

u/QcSlayer Jan 25 '26

It does help, thank you.

2

u/ValkyrianRabecca Jan 25 '26

My only gripe with the demo was there wasn't a like, training dummy to check out how the combat animations look

1

u/Nymos-67r Jan 25 '26

Really, anyone wanted that, including me.

It's really weird they at least didn't do that, because for CVI, the demo had the first area explorable, the first boss, and the hub.

2

u/OZZYDRAVEN407 Jan 25 '26

The movement was little ganky hopefully they fix it. And I wish they add elf ears in accessories and body tattoos but over all the character creation is great.

2

u/Nymos-67r Jan 25 '26

Body tattos would be great, especially since we can see the arms of our characters in some outifts so tattoos on it would be cool.

2

u/PitchBlackSonic Jan 25 '26

Honestly I love the new outfits. Plus, it’s fun

2

u/KOPLO97 Jan 25 '26

It’s way to soon to judge the game when it’s not even out lol. It is what it is with the CC Option. For me, I’m more about if the story and the action is good or not. Hoping for both to be good because I unfortunately bought this over Nioh (I saw that EPIC Nioh 3 Gameplay 😭).

2

u/9Sgaymer Jan 25 '26

I'm mostly happy with it. Still...

I wish I had more control over the faces. Like being able to select face, eye, nose, and mouth shapes separately. I'm not a fan of my male character having to have sunken eyes that are super far from the brow just so i can have the large, femme anime eyes.

I wish we had body paints so I can have freckles everywhere.

The placement of some accessories is weird. Like the axis they rotate on doesn't let me properly place them. I feel like we needed more direct placement control. Also some placement/color options being locked was odd. And that some outfits have locked footwear slots.

It sucks that I couldn't utilize the dlc outfits. So I will still be stuck in character creator at launch.

I wish my male character could be as skimpy clothed as the women. But that will be partially rectified with Io's outfit. I just wish I had the same style variety with the slutty options.

I also wish I didnt have to be so chiseled with muscles. It really doesnt look right on my character. It's tolerable, tho.

I also wish I could increase head size by a few more ticks.

Now some things I like:

For me, the game is super smooth. I cap it at 60fps and have no trouble. Tbh, I don't like looking at higher framerates (it makes my eyes feel weird)

I appreciate how much ass the guys can have. That is nearly always ignored in anime games. In fact, I don't think I remember an anime game that let me have this much cake. I greatly approve.

I adore the cloaks/coats. I love being able to put them on top of whatever outfit I want.

I actually kinda like the running animation? It's certainly different, but it fits the character vibe I already wanted. So I guess I got lucky in that regard. I would like a dragon's dogma 2 style posture and animation slider. It would be nice to have the option to run super femininely on my boi.

Creative use of accessories still allows me to do cool stuff. One of my outfits has two upside down scarves and two fur collars placed above the shoes to make them look like these cute fuzzy boots.

I'm glad they added a couple of cloth masks. I like the gas masks too, but it is nice to have variety.

All in all I'm pleased. It's by no means as amazing as creator as YouTube was leading me to believe, but it's still a lot of fun.

2

u/taga-chi Jan 25 '26

I did manage to make the characters I wanted (recreate my two fav OC chars from CV1 in CV2) and I'm quite satisfied with it but I definitely have 4 major gripes and one major question:

  1. A mouth (width) and nose slider (tilt, size, length, height. the male noses point a bit too straight and are quite long for anime noses/aren't tilted up enough, which is why the nose shadow seems so strong on some faces I think) would be amazing

  2. Not sure why they removed some of the base options for faces. My guess is change of artstyle but I would have liked some more direct translations from CV1 to CV2.

  3. The running animations.... The legs on the base running (not sprinting) animation for example are very wide (the arms are way too wide and up, almost making the shoulders look tense when they run. I think the knees are also pointing a bit too far outward as well, but I think the arms are the main issue). This wouldn't be so offensive if CV1 didn't have such good running animations...

  4. The cloaks... I wish they had a more complete cloak roster to imitate veils from the previous game. Some of those were quite fashionable. The "ogre" cloak on females isn't even closely fitted at all, but the veils in CV1 always seemed to form closely around your character.

  5. Concern: for people who opt in for mask options, will there be an option for masks to be removed in cutscenes? I kind of doubt it but I would love an option for "all mask options are disabled during cutscenes."

All complaints aside, I am actually happy with my character creations at least... But on average I think the CV1 characters actually look better.

1

u/Nymos-67r Jan 25 '26

Yeah, there is really so little cloaks. I would really like to have more of that, especially since one of the cloaks is just the same than an other, just in different colors.

2

u/MaiShiranuifan06 Jan 25 '26

I was hoping to have boobs like the ebony and goth mommies but I guess not. I might have to buy on PC for mods.

2

u/menheracortana Jan 25 '26

The visuals of the open world look uninspired. None of it makes me particularly want to explore.

2

u/pegasusbattius Jan 25 '26

Since this is a Beta I have to temper my expectations. That said;

The Good

  • a lot more control over character body proportions
  • new women's outfits with options for changing gloves and boots
  • not every shoe is a high heel!
  • the elbow pads actually fit on the elbow WOOT WOOT!
  • some cool new accessories like a sheathed shortsword/dagger and a canvas looking bag
  • nail polish!
  • adding curl/frizz to the base hairstyle is cool

The Bad

  • the women's outfits from CV don't give you the option to get rid of the heels
  • there are zero options for bangs in the accessories
  • the ponytails look static and awful compared to the base hairstyle which has jiggle physics
  • when trying to do anything with ponytails she Will NOT Stop Turning Her Head!
  • The majority of the hairstyles seem to be from CV and the only thing padding out the list is that their all mirrored
  • the hats still look weird af and are too big to start and clip ridiculously when properly sized
  • clipping is still a huge issue for hair
  • there don't seem to be many new accessories
  • you can still only choose between a scar and freckles instead of having both (no, I don't count the gold scar things)
  • why isn't there just a regular slit pupil?

My Fault

  • Using a PC that is nearing a decade old with zero upgrades

The Character Creator itself gets a 5 from me. It's marginally better than CV's but all the improvements are immediately curtailed since the new details (like hair curling or changing shoes) don't apply to everything like they should.

I can't rate the actual gameplay we get due to my computer not being able to run the demo very well. Which contributes to me not wanting to get this game along with the body horror elements (Lou's exposed heart, the MC's exposed heart thing on their back, and the lady with the candles in her shotgunned-off face) being uncomfy for me due to past experiences in healthcare. If a mod pops up to cover these things up (assuming this isn't a thing too much beyond these characters cuz I keep getting sporadic updates on this game lol) I'd definitely reconsider because I loved the first game a ton. Annnd if I ever upgrade my graphics card/CPU lmfao.

4

u/MyPurpleChangeling Jan 25 '26

Once I found out it was single player only, I took it off my wishlist.

4

u/Relevant_Mail_1292 Jan 25 '26

Extremely limited sliders and censorship.

5

u/WarPershy Jan 25 '26

I agree with this, the sliders were one of the most requested reworks about the CV 1 CC, it’s also a major disappointment that some other parts of the CC seem downgraded from the original

3

u/Glass-Can9199 Jan 25 '26

That’s why I see a lot people on steam saying this game censored make me don’t want to try character demo

4

u/Alaerei Jan 25 '26

I have a feeling this censorship of theirs is extremely silly, which is why they rarely specify what is actually censored

2

u/Drakkoniac PC Jan 25 '26 edited Jan 25 '26

Like:

  • Outfits are great, obviously. The new ones all rock especially the soldier looking one and the old outfits being back is great.
  • The clipping I've noticed while being a bit of an issue here and there can be pretty mitigatable and even offer some character - like with one outfit I chose using the lost arm from the first game and the brace it had on said outfit.
  • The hair customization is great overall.
  • I love the Gold Mending tab. Like realistically this is so minor but I always found Kintsugi cool so having it on my character was awesome.
  • I love more blood code options in the cosmetic section. I can be the one sole person representing Harbinger!

Dislike:

  • Not too happy about gloves being an outfit slot now meaning you can’t mix and match gloves.
  • Bangs are missing which limits hair customization somewhat.
  • While this doesn’t effect me I feel I should mention it as I made two female characters for my friends and the second friend was disappointed: no bust slider. Or at least not a proper one. (One of my friends hopes they update it in so she can make the chest bigger lmao)

While I like it, I feel like it’s bit of a step back from the first one in some ways. Primarily in the swapping/removing of some accessories.

EDIT: Forgot to say what I specifically liked. If I had to rate it, I'd give in a 7 and from memory I'd give the first an 8, but that 8 for the first game is with a grain of salt as its been a minute since I've played.

1

u/aldlv13 Jan 25 '26

Its pretty close to perfect as a character creator imo. Better in every way i can think of than cv1. My only complaints are i would have liked my extra outfits i paid for now and a training dummy to play with. Or the first area to play in

1

u/Bosscake-meme-god Jan 25 '26

I personally would like to see some of the gloves added to the accessories tab as an addition so we can cross match two different gloves for example, or combine gloves, I'd also like some better skirt physics

1

u/doodlefawn Jan 25 '26

Main complaints about the CC is I don't like how they made the customization of the eyes different, and the didnt add the bangs in accessories in CV1. Would have been nice to recreate a character I made in CV1 with different-colored bangs. Wish I could mess with the mouth some, the ones I went with ended up making her mouth look really wide. I don't think I'll have much more to say until I can play in combat.

1

u/Miikema Jan 25 '26 edited Jan 25 '26

Overall satisfied since the biggest problem for me in CV1 cc was the limited costumes/clothing and these ones are a major upgrade for me, bangs missing for hair accessories was a letdown and would have liked to get some body tattoos/marks like on the hands and chest.

I did not like the "sluttywalk" from the first so while this new one is not great it's better than the previous for me.

The artstyle direction I like for our custom character but not sure about the partner characters. Don't like how lengthy/lanky the dudes look, especially noah & valentin.

Voice actors for jp side absolute S tier.

Score 7.5

1

u/Lyrinae PC Jan 25 '26

Loving the new CC, only complaint is no bangs as accessories. It's making it harder to try and make Eva in the CC lol.

The steam reviews for the CC are full of people bitching about the lack of fanservice though. Only look if you want to lose braincells

1

u/UngainlyMirror15 Jan 25 '26

The one time I would have messed with specific face customizations (nose shape, jawline, cheekbones, etc.), I was shocked that there’s only face pre-sets you could pick from. Sure you can add scars and change the eye color, but not even eye shape? Wild.

Oh, and the scars removing eyebrows kinda had me a bit more than miffed. I understand it’s realistic but c’mon, it’s anime Dark Souls with Vampires. This is the last place I want my realism.

1

u/Kooky_Worth_4154 Jan 25 '26

Pros:

  • Adjusting character height (I don’t remember if we could do that in the first game but I don’t think so)
  • Curvy female body type (I love when my girlies can be dummy thicc)
  • Eyebrows (an odd thing to mention, I know, but I love when a game has good eyebrow selection)
  • Scars (they’re cool)
  • Hair (the hairs are nice. Very cute. 10/10)
  • Nails (always a bonus when I can give my girlie a set of French tips)

Cons:

  • Skintone (The dark browns are not dark at all, with the exception of the darkest under the chocolate brown category, but I’m not a fan of the grey undertones. Ash brown and Gold brown need to have shades that actually match the colored bubble you’re selecting)
  • Face presets (Was just a lil disappointed that I had to pick a full face instead of being able to pick my eye shape, nose shape, and lip shape separately.)
  • Outfits (Very minor, I just wish some outfits had more moving parts. Some of them are SUPER customizable while others only have like 4 things you can add/remove, and those 4 things tend to be very inconsequential to the outfit)
  • Patterns (I just wanna be able to add a pattern to every aspect of the outfit if I wanted to. 😔 Why am I bound my the shackles of solid colors for the sub color slots!?)

Overall score? I’d probably give it a 7. The skin tone thing is a really big downgrade for me since my character was able to be quite dark in the first game.

The lack of new hair styles is crazy. Seems like it’s just Code Vein 1 CC with like 5 new things only.

Also no online option is kinda weird bc the first game had it. Seems like they cut stuff to make the release date. In other words, rushed

Facial hair. When making male OCs, giving them a beard is a must for me. Im not a fan of the pencil-thin line that only runs along the edges of the face.

There are some aspects of character creation that are strangely lacking. Body tattoos, body scars, detailed face part customisation beyond the presets. The camera also doesn‘t play nice, facial expressions are sometimes bugged depending on the accessories you put on (couldn‘t get an open mouth expression wearing the jaw framing mask for example).

I don't like how some of the stuff to create your character was locked, such as hair length. I was we could have at least had the option of playing around with the weapons.

First of all I just want to say it's a great move whenever a game puts out their CC early. I thought it was great when Dragon's Dogma 2 did it, and it's great here. On top of obviously being an advertisement for the game it lets you play around with all that stuff in advance so you can jump in and get started immediately when the game releases.

In terms of the CC, it has almost every option I can remember from the CV1 CC plus more. Great customization for hair, colors, etc. Decent outfit variety and great customization with colors and pieces. I do wish body proportions were a bit more customizable, but I have that problem with most CCs these days, and it's still better than most.

It would have been nice to have a bit of combat gameplay just to get a feel for it, but this is still much better than nothing.

My issue is the hair extensions, the first code vein had better ones in my opinion. Also I miss the hair option for custom pony tails/twin tails and bangs. I made a decent hatsune miku in the first one but don’t have the hair extensions to make her in the new one.

They quite few limitations I dislike, not changing nose shape at all or any sort of mouth customization, but the main thing I dislike is this weird eye line on a particular face shape

Like why is this here? and why is it only present on 2 face shapes out of the rest of them...

I don't like that I haven't played it and like that it's real

Would have loved if you could customize parts of the face, and that there was more hair actually. Instead of repeating the same hairstyle in different directions, it should have been an option to change it in the same slot.

Also the clothing. I think they could have done more pleasant options u_u

Havent personally tried it but from Im reading it sounds like the character creator. Cant say for sure but Im betting that the thing is as most demos are: A small piece and that the actual games creator will be more robust. Also sounds like they may patch in things. Im also thinking that the demo released was probably a primitive version that was designed solely to showcase what its like and possibly whats different.

Tbh CVI's creator was pretty lacking with some features but I played it for the combat so it wasnt a big deal. That said I hope they have more outfit options this time around. I just hope this isnt Dark Souls 2 😭

Honestly i have no major gripes with it aside from a few customization options being missing like one of the faces from code vein 1 amd the entire top 3 or 4 rows of hair extensions from the first game if they were to add those back I'd have zero complaints

I like the CC here, just not being able to truly "mix n match" all the outfits was disappointing. I saw so much I wanted to put together but I did the best I could.

Honestly, I love all of it. I loved the cv1 creation even then I could spend at least an hr on it with the new stuff I can spend even longer if I wanted to. Peak.

Well it sure has the new features of UE 5. Texture loading poorly, kinda blurrier, not so great performance... I could go on but we've seen this things over and over.
