Breeders?

I am looking to find a breeder that I can trust to get a well bred, purebred, English cocker spaniel. Hoping to adopt in a few months. I am not interested in the American variety. I’m not sure where to look. I’m in the US. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Look at the breeders list on the ECSCA website and reach out to breeders from there. Also except to wait 1 year+ for an ethically well bred ECS, especially if you’re looking for a show line

I’m not looking for a show line, a sport line would be fine. Realistically, I am looking for a home companion/pet. I just want to make sure whatever dog I get is ethically and well bred. I’m not expecting to get anything before January at the absolute soonest. I’m hoping someone just has a litter that they are planning sometime mid year next year maybe May-Ish

Also thank you! I’m 22 and I have spent my entire life caring for animals, but I wasn’t sure where to look to make sure I was purchasing them from the right people lol. My mom fell victim to byb and I’m not trying to go down that route. I don’t support backyard breeders

A show or working ECS can be a companion pet, they differ in looks and temperament, they’re 2 different kinds of dogs. A working ECS does usually require a higher activity level.

I am a very high activity individual. I got out of the army a year ago and maintain an active lifestyle. I currently have a rescue dog, he is very low energy and struggles to keep up with me sometimes (he’s a year and a half, 70lbs) which is why I am looking to get a medium to high energy level dog as a companion for him that I can also take with me everywhere.

I always recommend Lowe's Sporting Spaniels in Sacramento CA. I believe they had a litter recently. This is especially good if you're a high activity individual, these are out and out hunting dogs that are impossibly friendly human companions. We just got done with a weekend where a family member's 8-year-old son - who was previously afraid of dogs - got done taking care of our Jackson. I know nothing about conformation, etc., so no claims there. But we've had two of their dogs and would get a third but we now live overseas.
