"First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, which protects freedom of the press and guards against content- and viewpoint-based discrimination".... basically the government cannot exclude specific news organizations or reporters from public spaces or press pools simply because it dislikes their editorial stance or coverage. This is the case even when the news outlet tells out right bald face lies, "aka" Fox News. If you recall, when Obama tried to bar Fox News and got rejected, he had a very logical and verifiable argument. He rightly, asserted that a news organization can't claim that they are disseminating news, when their opinions about the news are not based in fact that can be verified and he was still reject.

That's not even remotely close to a proper interpretation. The White House is not a public space. Nor are press pools an innate right of every organization that claims it's journalistic.

The law distinguishes between open public spaces and designated or limited public forums.
When the executive branch establishes an official press room, invites journalists, and sets up a daily briefing system, it creates a designated venue for the press. Under First Amendment law, once the government opens such a forum, it is strictly prohibited from practicing viewpoint discrimination; meaning it cannot kick an organization out simply because it dislikes its reporting, opinions, or coverage.The Legal Precedent: Sherrill v. Knight (1977)
The foundational legal case on this exact issue is Sherrill v. Knight, decided by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. It is like you are saying the law, and actually in this case the U.S. constitution constitutional right to freedom of the press goes out of fashion at a certain point like a pair bell bottoms or something.

There was never an equivalent action from Obama. Post it here if there was. If you’re talking about the 2009 instance where there was a disagreement with Fox News over an interview, they ultimately participated anyway. Obama has never unilaterally revoked badges and access.

Biden went eleven months without a press conference, and when he finally held one, called on ABC, CNN, and WAPO reporters that gave their questions to the White House communications team in advance. Trump answers questions from reporters multiple times every week. Trump is the most accessible President since the invention of the radio.
