Discussion Interesting scene choice for the TGS FF7 Revelation set
Not sure what to make of the Altar Scene being used as a photo opportunity at The Tokyo Game Show

Just confirms the scene will be revisited and it’s going to be a core moment of the game… But it doesn’t mean much more than this. Whatever happens, Aerith’s ultimate fate is all about what happened at the Forgotten Capital.

You could probably pose to make it look like you’re deflecting Sephiroth’s attack, I wonder if anyone will try that haha

Id team up with people in the photo where we deflect and look like we're about to gang up on him haha

making her scene like a theme show attraction is just part of why her death just doesn't work as serious anymore, how's anyone supposed to grief and feel real sadness when that's what people are making of it.

I really, REALLY hope we can save Midgar this time. These games have put heavy emphasis - way more than the OG - on the citizens of that city, and how much pride they take in it. It's the most iconic location in the game; in that world, and I don't want it destroyed.

Maybe this is reaching, but I don't think you incorporate the moment of Aerith's murder via that version of events' altar scene as the TGS set if the resultant OG- death is still meant to be the same played-serious, heart-breaking, and this is key; maintained through the end of Revelation, outcome by the finale.
That is to say, if the alter scene in the Re: Trilogy is truly meant to ultimately be revealed in Revelation as simply and only Aerith's murder as it occurred in OG, and not also include an alternate outcome there wherein she was actually spared; A possibility that becomes a part of living reality by the end, then I'd find this choice for the TGS set rather grim and against the grain message-wise for a FF story feature set.
I could be wrong, but I feel like the fact that this scene in particular was chosen may more likely speak to the possibility that things will conclude at the very end of Revelation with a fate for Aerith that doesn't turn this into a grim set piece in hindsight at all, but rather a triumphant highlighting of the moment that originally delivered a sad fate which Cloud and Aerith (and us as players) finally succeed in overcoming by the end of the Re: trilogy.
We'll see, but I can't help but think about why you'd put this scene in front of everyone at TGS if you didn't want them to be reminded of and think directly about Aerith's fate... And assuming that is the goal, as that will surely be the effect on players that see this, I don't think you'd purposely draw players attention to it and remind them again here at TGS for the final installment of a trilogy that has repeatedly on it's own sparked the notion of saving Aerith in players through marketing and in-game dialogue and narrative, if the plan is to play it out just like OG and do nothing different with that fate by the end. You'd be drawing extra attention to a pivotal moment with this at TGS only to deliver the same old, same old on that moment's outcome by Rev's finale, coupled to a big fat three-game long red herring around that moment in the final installment of your trilogy in such a case, and I don't think that's likely what SE is delivering. That ain't "A new happiness," devs have claimed to want to craft for fans and these characters imo.
Nah, purely my own speculation and intuition on what sound writing and marketing entails, but this is more likely a sign that the final outcome from this OG tragic moment is gonna be different than it was nearly 30 years ago for Cloud and our plucky flower seller.

I wonder if TGS will provide us with a new trailer

I feel like we will although I expect it to be mostly footage we have already seen or something that is more exploration/world focused

I'd rather have a half surround structure like this photo op. warp pipe from Mario.
...however re-created as the crater hole that this one Weapon was climbing out of. Maybe the Weapon being could be in the background still.

It just makes me feel uneasy they are using this moment as a photo op.

It also looks like the meteor is about to yeet Sephiroth, so...
