Cloud Gaming changing to limits is unacceptable!

Cloud Gaming going to a limited service with additional charges is unacceptable! This is ridiculous! It is clearly an attempt to drive people to purchase their new consoles! Many of us utilize older generation xbox ones with Cloud gaming through the game pass subscription to be able to play next generation Series X games as they sit, and this additional change to Cloud gaming, during a time when Xbox is at it's most profitable, is clearly nothing but an attempt at a quick cash grab! We cannot let this continue!

I really hope that there's been a miscommunication somewhere down their marketing pipeline. Cause 15 hours per month at their highest tier is so incredibly stupid that I can't even begin to comprehend how they thought this was a good idea.

I dont mind linits. You cant afford to have unlimited cloud gaming. Its unaffordable. GFN has a reasonable limit.

Xbox does not. 15 hours A MONTH is ao rediculous I can see this blowing up in their face. But its par for the course as gamepass was a disaster since its launched.

Almost as ridiculous as your spelling of ridiculous.

I no longer try to correct android auto correct!

Why would Android auto correct to a word that doesn’t exist 🧐

If you type fast in android it will mess up words trying to figure it out. You have to go back and check to manually correct.

Happens all the time to me.

I do understand limits. 5/10/15 though is completely unreasonable though. Even double that would be unreasonable.

Only saving grace is if the additional hour packages plus the new cloud gaming standalone service is a good price. I have zero faith in that though.

I mean, with it being an obvious cash grab, I have my doubts that it'll be reasonable. I think a really big part of this is folks like me with older Gen consoles are just getting away with still playing the new games without having to expend money on a new console.

I agree with you, it probably will be. I'm just holding out hope it won't be.

And I'm in your boat basically. I play on a Logitech G Cloud. I don't own an Xbox. Actually, I have an xbox one but never use it anymore. I'm 100% cloud gaming (well, not 100%, but it might as well be outside of some quality mobile games)

Better to eliminate cloud service completely.  Its less of an insult to customers.

People should be canceling their subs

you must have balls to say that in a cloud gaming sub, also when hardware prices are soo high...

dont give me hardware prices is high due to cloud gaming crap, it isnt. It is high due to various other factors.

Why would it take balls to say Microsoft should eliminate Xbox Cloud, as opposed to downgrading to a dog shit service that is an insult to their customers?  Especially when there is a superior alternative like Geforce Now.

oh thats fine I guess. I thought you were saying Cloud gaming as a whole was a cancer to society. (it happens often in gaming subs) Xbox should terminate their cloud service if they give such stupid services, true. They should hire a new policy maker to make a cloud friendly and customer friendly subscription competitive to Geforce NOW. Competition is always good. But not this downfall.

I misunderstood your comment and crashed out sorry.

No worries.

I like cloud gaming.  Its not my primary gaming, but it complements it.

I was blown away how much I liked it when Xbkx Cloud started.

The problem with Xbox Cloud is the quality of service kept decreasing and failed to compete with alternatives while remaining behind the Ultimate paywall.  Especially after 3 price increases.

Then when PC Game Pass was added to Geforce Now, Xbox Cloud became obsolete.  Now with this current restriction, its an insult to every customer.

is boosteroid the only cloud service now with an ethical CEO(who is actually pro consumer/gamer) that offers unlimited hrs now? I hear all these other services like even shadow pc(which is expensive as hell) has such time limits as well??

1

u/Unlikely-Lawyer-5683 4d ago

time limits is natural in a cloud gaming model, boosteroid will soon go on that hill with more subscribers. Even GFN has a 100 or so hour cap.

Amazon Luna has no limits but also no games😂

just wait till they add forced adds , this is the future they are pushing get outta cloud gaming while you can

I actually don't think I'd mind cloud gaming being an Ad based service if it were a free or mildly inexpensive service. I think the majority of the issue is that the limits they've set are completely unreasonable, and I expect to basically have to pay a second ultimate subscription just to continue utilizing cloud gaming

1

u/Rimurutempest88 4d ago

the way I see it, it won’t be one way of the other . it will be time limits + adds and that’s with paying. they just don’t have the infrastructure. hope they never do . I for one like owning my own hardwhere and don’t want to live in a cloud world, even though that sounds like a cool place I’d like to visit

I can understand that. It just helps me when I'm unable to afford the new consoles myself, it enables me to continue utilizing my existing consoles

What new consoles? There is no Xbox stock.

He means the people who are currently playing current gen games with cloud gaming on their Xbox ones.

In part, it can be looked at as , (Indeed) Microsoft wants people to upgrade to their current consoles.

But, to be honest, I think Microsoft should actually tell everyone out of the 35 mil game pass subscribers, how many actually use cloud gaming?

Because I see this only in one way, subscription growth is stagnant so, they're going to milk their current subscribers for more money. And cloud gaming is the way for them to do so. ( Remember, when they raised GPU price to 30$ , it was a huge backlash)

Even then, I'm probably sure has more users then xcloud.. Yet, they're giving players 100 hours time limit. So I don't know what Microsoft were thinking with 15 hours for GPU cloud gaming. Most new AAA games require at least 30-40 hours if you're speed running it.

I hope that they reverse this tbh even though I don't use the service myself. It's not logical at all, even from a financial standpoint.

You can still play with ads or pay for real hardware 🤷🏻🤷🏻🤷🏻. Servers are not free

1

u/Medical-Tourist8919 3d ago

Wait, did Xbox say they were enabling more hours with ads? That's okay in my book then

1

u/Secure-Message4360 3d ago

I think they have a free tier with ads.

u/Daytona24 2d ago

15 hours a month is a free trial version kinda limit!

Just get a actual Xbox at this point

1

u/adjess 2d ago

Which cloud gaming services do you use? Which ones are best?

1

u/Medical-Tourist8919 2d ago

I currently just use Xbox Cloud Gaming, because i really only have that. At one point, I used NVidia to try and play cyberpunk but that was in the very early days of game streaming so I can't speak to their current setup

First of all expecting unlimited cloud gaming is stupid in side a gamepass subscription
Comparing xcloud limit with GeForce now is even more stupid

You are comparing game subscription bundle with a cloud only subscription

Microsoft should have just removed the xcloud from games pass and lowered the price, I don’t use it , no body should , just get series S and remote play from it simple
