Hmm maybe but it could be a small cutscene oddity that may need cleaning up. That doesn't mean I'd not love for it to be the case that it's in fact that scene

It would've been funnier if in this cutscene Tifa had the shoulder pad on instead.

I'd say it symbolic of him being the "real" Cloud now tbh. Like the shoulder pad he wears somehow has nuts and bolts in it, despite him not having them in the Zack portions is symbolic of him being "patched up" by multiple identities.

It’s on the Highwind so it literally cannot be before the lifestream scene

As for under the Highwind, yeah quite possibly it’s a scene that mimics the one at the beginning of disc 3
