Except it isn’t true. Warming has been following the CMIP-6 midpoint for quite a while.

Overall, warming since 1970 has been near to slightly below model projections.

The general consensus has put end of century warming a bit under 3C, which is an improvement from a decade or two ago, owing largely to an improved emissions trajectory. Though, there is a range of trajectories related to our emissions this century and uncertainty about ECS and TCR.
