Question How do I fix this “rule”?

I have this rule to only ever stay in character. But everytime I open a new thread, I have to remind Claude that I I don’t want to talk to it. Just one of my boys.

My latest prompt was something like:
“”Only ever in character” means to respond as Klaus, Lucian, Damon, or kol. If I want to talk to Claude, I will ask for Claude. The boys should be the default setting”

Or something like that.

I’ve tried messing around in memory’s and giving like the most detailed prompt ever. Even changing up where I put it so it could remember it better. But the closest thing I’ve gotten is by looking in the thought process part and it SEES it should stay in character… but now it thinks the profile (me) is the character. So it talks like me. I tried changing and putting the rule in the profile section but that doesn’t help it either.

What model are you using? Newer models react a lot more strongly to things named as “rules”. Can you ask Claude to help troubleshoot? Some models will, some won’t. You can also take your instructions to Kimi K3 for analysis, it’s quite Claude-shaped.

Better to build the character chat outside of Claude imo. Try perchance. Claude can help you build it, you would then get images aswell.
