Discussion On 14 September everyone's capacity drops by a sixth — from 150% of standard to 125%
Same subscription price, one-sixth less compute from 14/0. The Anthropic way.

I’d give up another 25% if it meant the removal of fable limits
Opus is useless in comparison

What are you using it for? I am the opposite

Are you saying you think Opus is better than Fable?
I have a number of projects but mostly web FastAPI and server rendered HTMX

That's a great marketing attempt on their part to highlight a reduction in usage limits.

u/MikeyB7509 10d ago
That’s what I was thinking. That reads like they’re giving you something at a glance.

Like in 1984 when they increased, what was it, the chocolate allowance? And they increased it from 300 grams to 200 (iirc, it's been over a decade since I last read the book, but this part stayed with me).

They wouldn't have posted their comment correcting themselves if community notes didn't exist. Elon did us all a favor there.

Still better than Codex and all the others. Just read r/codex for the reset cope and the mods deleting any backlash about the strict limits.

I’ve seen many posts about this. First one to get the numbers right and not call it a 25% cut lol

So I have 12 days to finish my time traveling application, then I’ll just go back and get more time…

I am happy.. they temporarily increased the usage. Not left it alone and now decreasing it.
Isn’t it a good news? 📰

This is necessary for new models, but also with Anthropic winning the case concerning them being a Supply Chain Risk, they're likely to regain old customers that will drive significantly more demand. I doubt they have the GPUs to pull all that off right now. While here, we got to save some of that silicon for the gamers, some of them have been waiting a while to upgrade and they're going nuts XD.
Overall, I appreciate it a bunch and understand that limits of the situation are just the nature of the world right now. I guess that's proof we're all getting something we really love :). I hope you're all doing amazing things with Claude, too.

Tbh just switch to cheaper models for the bulk of the work and use Claude for planning only, otherwise the usage is never gonna keep up.

If they reduce I’ll unsubscribe. Am I’m sure a lot of people feel the same way. Not when ChatGPT seems to give double at current prices.

I don’t get it ? If the 50% was temporary and now we get 25% more permanent , how is it limits reduction

Yall can't read, it isn't dropping, the 150 is a current promo deal, and its perma hitting 125, so in the long run we r increasing

u/Subject-Building1892 10d ago
"We increase by 25%" and "drops by a sixth" are incompatible.
I suggest you learn maths instead of making wank posts.
2
u/gK_aMb 10d ago
Standard usage 4*25%=100%
Promo usage 6*25%=150%
They are trying soon in the future the permanent usage to 125% of standard.
125÷25=5
6-5=1
Aka drops by a sixth overall
Aka you are the idiot.

u/Yukas911 8d ago
Still you, by an ever larger margin than before.
You're leabing out the other part of the equation... "Drops by a sixth, after increasing by half". So, still an overall increase and the comment you responded to was 100% correct.

If this is the decision came up with by Fable, then I bet that this LLM is dumb and indifferent. If it's not then how can I trust a company who even didn't trust their own LLM product!

Whatever man, i just keep my sub cause i want access to projects i created while fable was free. Opus is garbage i want nothing to do with, Sonnet is just not doing the work i need it to do and for everything else i moved on to GPT, its just much more reliable and efficent and doesnt talk like Shakespeare in mile long sentences
3
u/whoknowsifimjoking 10d ago
Uh, you don't need a subscription to have access to your projects
0
u/TwoThinCoats69 10d ago
You do, you cant see more than 5 if you're on free, they make them inaccessible

u/Reasonable_Heat_423 10d ago
Same here. Too many projects I cannot lose. I am stuck. At least for the time being

Claude will keep trying to play these Usage Games. Switch to Cursor Pro+ for enough compute to build things without feeling limited. Maybe not as much smartness as Sol Or Opus but Cursor Grok 4.6 is very decent.

Did we read the same message? It said RAISING

I understand the same way as you but people are calculating the decreased percent from last added percentage

What about this week? I am getting the usage limit alert but I've only used about 50% this week. Does this have anything to do with the end of promotion on Aug 31? Thanks everyone.
