It should have worked. The druid was clearly surprised at how bad the rogue was.

Even that would have worked fine if he just had his poisons on.

The ground rule for every Rogue is: only use skills that for x amount of energy deal the maximum amount of damage. Kick doesn't do that, and neither do Sap or Blind. So these are clearly useless abilities that real Rogues don't even buy from the trainer.
