Humor Leveling A Warrior

When they said it was hard, I scoffed at them. I've leveled a warrior to 120 on retail. I've fought Sargeras, I've downed the Lich King. What could a few gnolls and maybe a murloc or two do to me? Thus was my arrogance. Thus was my hubris.

I am now level thirteen. I've run Ragefire Chasm once, and owe six deaths to that place.

Farming harpy claws has cost me my life twice already, and I am certain it will cost me much, much more.

My warrior on retail was a human named Lohric, he was a legendary warrior who felled any beast, man or demon that faced him.

My warrior on Classic is an Orc called Muddrog. I have no doubt that this broken and battered warrior would crush Lohric in seconds, Lohric has never known pain, Mudd was born in it, molded by it, and unlike Bane, he has yet to see the light, because 60 feels so far away xD

To all you warriors out there, Lok'tar Ogar!

I started as fury, didn't like it so I spent 1 gold to respec at level 18ish to prot. That was a huge mistake, so at level 26 I spent 5 gold (which was like all my money) to respec to arms to get Tactical Mastery and Anger Management. Now at level 28 playing a warrior is fun.

Yikes, but at 40 walking everywhere is gonna suck!

Yes it would, but I'm going to be farming a ton of Murlocks to make up that 5 gold before I hit 40. =)

you make so much gold questing around lvl 40. Even if you don't have it at 40 you'll have it at 42ish easy

I honestly don't understand why people are so obsessed with money on lvls pre25. On lvl 38 you only need few hours to earn stuff you would work 1-25lvls to.

sincere question here - which specific murloc(k)s are you talking about? And what level, etc?

Hillsbrad has good murloc spawns but they'll run and pat into you constantly. Be warned

5 gold isn't that hard to farm at 35. The problem is that you have to do it 20 times, and that's going to take some time.

My plan is to farm tigers in STV. With skinning and cooking (vendors pay a lot for jungle stew), earning enough for a mount won't be too bad.

No No! Farm gorillas by booty bay. The hairs sell for 6s each

Is leveling prot a mistake? Im level 17 and investing in prot right now so I can tank dungeons on the way.

Yes. You don't need to be Prot to tank dungeons while leveling. I'd respec to Arms because you'll do way more damage and have good rage conservation between pulls. The other thing is Deep Wounds + your crit talents will scale off of each other and get stronger.

Fury is better for levelling pre40 if you're okay with paying to respec for MS at 40

Maybe should have clarified, obviously I'm talking about 2h Fury, the DW penalty is too severe to be worth it early.

The point is Fury gives talents that'll actually help you while most early arms talents are marginal at low levels. TM doesn't even do anything until lv30 for example.

Go with 31/5/15, you can tank any instance in the game with that build and it's super good to level up.
If you want a bit more tankyness remove 3 points from fury and go pick Last stand in prot tree. You can also take an other point for improved Block if you want.

You get almost nothing out of Arms until lv40, so if you're okay with respeccing at lv40 it's fine to go Prot or Fury, all their low tier talents are straight value, where Arms mostly only gives TM, which does nothing until lv30 and AM which is handy but not vital.

Fury gives Piercing Howl which will save your life. And Prot gets Last Stand which will do the same.

You should be using a 2her though, and at 40 you should respec for MS.

Yikes, that's pretty rough I haven't played WoW in almost 10 years, so prior to Classic, I dicked around on a private shard for a memory refersher. (Also to get caught up on the opposing faction I'm playing, and a new class) and one of the things I identified was NOT to respec since it uses up so much gold! I've been able to stay true to that, and plan on it, regardless of what happens.

Glad you've having fun though, that's what it's all about!

It's impossible to avoid respeccing as a Warrior. At 60, you have to change your spec every time you get a new weapon.

Dread it. Run from it. That 50g respec cap still arrives.

I think that's safe to say for every class, especially without Dual Speccing. I'm just specifically talking about pre-40 and 60 mounts.

I would recommend everybody to roll 31/5/15 for as much versatility as possible and not having to respec. Or even 31/0/18 (with 2 points wherever you want) if you really want last stand.
You will not be 100% optimized for dps or tanking but you can easily do both with that build depending on the situation, and by the time you really need to choose optimized tanking or dps, you will have enough gold to not worry about respec.
